I watch a lot of american movies both action packed and romance, I read novels also, but the story line always activate my thinking mode. Are americans what they say they are judging from what I see in the movies because am beginning to fall in love with 'em

If you believe the BS Hollywood puts out especially the crap these days you are misinterpreting America and doing us an injustice.
Now don't get me wrong, we are still one of the better nations of the world and have things going for us that other nations don't have like the right to speak your mind without thought police trying to beat you into submission or religions running our lives. but like anywhere else in the world there is a lot of ignorance and stupidity going on. Back in the 1960's surf movies were very popular. But for some reason people began to assume all Californians are surfers. UMMMMMMMMMMMM... NOT! When the movie version of the Disney classic 101 Dalmatians came out people rushed to buy Dalmatians not knowing anything about the tendencies of the breed. Suddenly shelters were flooded with Dalmatians from people totally unprepared or ready to own a dog. When the movie Saving Nemo came out people rushed to buy clown fish only to promptly kill them putting a salt water fish in a fresh water tank. Of course there were the rare few that thought they could use table salt to make salt water instantly killing the fish. Like any place you need to spend time to get to know it properly. This is what Hollywood wants you to see...  but they don't want anyone to know we have stuff like this here too...  Welcome to Los Angeles County M------F----er! BANG BANG! Yes that does indeed go on here! people do get shot here. Just not as frequently like say in Mexico. |

Um, Torgo, you are going to say Gang shootings don't happen here? I have seen the aftermath of more than one and likewise seen a gang shooting occur before. You should have sent him here to Canada. We could have put him in our parliament. He probably would have done a better job than our present politicians. |
