We cannot be the jury of their deeds after their death.

Why can we not be judge and jury of their crime after their death? How else are we to learn that murder and paedophilia of an innocent is unacceptable...if not to use the perp as an example?

I'm sure the victims families didn't want to be sentenced to a life of pain and suffering either. Been there and still seeing it. Destroys lives.

Do i condone capital punishment?? No

Would i rather see a perp such as the one mentioned above jailed longterm with 3 meals a day and access to resources such as the internet to help them rehabilitate?....hell no.

What's the alternative???

Frigged if i know...but clearly the justice system doesn't work in a lot of cases because if it did...there wouldn't be repeat offenders.

If you are to be asked: what will you choose, death penalty or lifelong imprisonment. This is just one of the problems in the world. The law of man vs the law of God. The point of views of the victims and the suspects lies in your hands. Share.

death penalty.no sense in making tax payers pay to keep them alive

Ofcourse we cant be their judged after their death. Who else do you want to pay for the mistakes of others after they die? Their family? Wow how can they access gadgets? I dont know that.

prisoners are assigned activities for them to make money in prison but all their food and stuff is paid for by tax payers.the money they do make is for them when they get released

Did you ever thought to help?. You know notvall in jails are criminals, others are innocent. Would you let them die by starvation?

Capital punishment laws in the U.S. vary from state to state...It would be better in every respect if they were uniform...Asking a jury to decide or recommend punishment is asking too much...They should only be obligated to determine guilt or innocence...The presiding judge should make the decision based on facts uniques to each case and on input (wishes) from the immediate family of the victims when that applies....

The ONLY thing some people fear is DEATH. Prisons are more a training center for better crooks. Once in prison, odds are the person WILL REPEAT OFFEND. Ck. the STATS.

Also; cost of keeping in life sentences is INSANE. Get the FACTS & be practicle. Get the TRUE STATS. from Law Enforcement. You will be AMAZED.

DEATH PENALTY.....YES

Even if theyre innocent? You can put an innocent to prison through money. Now by agreeing to death penalty its like youre betraying innocent ones. They must just be subjected to be punished but not death.

because of the margin of error possible in our justice system of loopholes, bought defenses, withheld information, and character assassination, I think the chance of innocents being convicted is too high for the death penalty to be on the table

I also think the goal is for us to try to create a safer environment, which is just as easily done (when we have the person in custody already for trial obviously) by locking them away for life

Capital punishment. As you can clearly see with connecticut doing away with death penalty, crime problems are much better now.

With all the science available, very few are not guilty.

BESIDES, show me ANY TIME IN HISTORY, when others have not suffered for the benifit of the whole? My OPINION.

I looked at the bjs site and found this,,,,

Released prisoners with the highest rearrest rates were robbers (70.2%), burglars (74.0%), larcenists (74.6%), motor vehicle thieves (78.8%), those in prison for possessing or selling stolen property (77.4%), and those in prison for possessing, using, or selling illegal weapons (70.2%).
Within 3 years, 2.5% of released rapists were arrested for another rape, and 1.2% of those who had served time for homicide were arrested for homicide.

http://bjs.gov/index.cfm?ty=tp&tid=17

which to me convinces me further that prisoin is a better alternative than death

highest repeat offenders are not those who take lives, I see no reason to take theirs

those released after taking life apparently have a pretty low incidence of repeat offense,,,(2.5 for rape and 1.2 for homicide).

I would even bet, its those with the best defenses who are never incarcerated for their crime, that feel untouchable and repeat the crime over and over UNTIL incarceration or their own death

I think we need to qualify some of this. Winlei is not from the US. The prisons in her country are MUCH different than here in the U.S.

In the US, prisoners have much more than benefits, than most other countries. Prisoners have a better life than many people out on the street. Besides 3 meals & a bed; television with cable, Librarys some with court ordered porn, free medical & dental care, exercise equipment, access to the internet, wives/girl friends can have special visiting situations, Under the "freedom of information act", all law enforcement training can be accessed, so prisoners can train on how to avoid/defeat the police. THe best "JOKE" (opinion),tax payers HAVE to pay any LEGAL services, those IN jail, may need.

I have family IN law enforcement & know what (my opinion) a joke prison really is. YES they are confined & have some discomforts. BUT, they for sure have it better than our troops, guarding this country. Prisons Need to GO BACK to being PART OF THE PUNISHMENT. NOT HOTELS that train BETTER CRIMNALS.

Example, Look at what that Sheriff in Nevada does. HIS prisoners leave the area on release, as they will say, his jail is to tough.

MY opinion & I am prepared to defend it, with FACTS & COMMON SENSE.
I have also BEEN in JAIL, so know it from the inside & out.
32 hours was enough for me to "SEE THE LIGHT"

It's a sad fact, that in my country, prisoners get a life of luxury. They are allowed to have Sky TV, gaming consoles, alcohol, cigarettes, etc. I would actually think humiliation would be more effective, as in shaming them infront of their neighbours. Death Penalty is the easy way out.

In life, what we sow is what we reap. If you sow violence youll earn violence. Have you ever see someone who are subjected to death penalty? I did. The first televised lethal injection. Here in the philippines, before ,it is through electric chair but what? Until now they are still everywhere. Nothing happens.
