WOW! I am amazed by you guys! It seems like everyone has got different perspectives!

IT often feels alone TBH. specially if your away from home, or you think you should not show it cos creeps will take advantage of it or your son has a lively and busy life style! or internet forums, and many other reasons...all true indeed...

we have all got reasons to be so...but the best way is to engage, participate, communicate...

It`s my understanding that the society suffers from being isolated or alone! however, as some of you already enjoying not to be confined or restricted or limited, and isolated, I call them lucky! (specially those who have never gone through, DC and BETTY)

Tell us more about how to minimise that feeling please! cos i don't want to waste this precious life and just thinking how alone it feels....so please share your story!

XXX

You gotta find your own purpose and happiness in life. You cannot expect someone else to fill up those gaps for you. If you can't be happy on your own, you can't be truly happy with someone else either.
Sure we all need other ppl, we aren't hermits. But you shouldn't have to rely on others for your own happiness and fulfillment in life.

So you gotta do some soul-searching, find meaning in your life, so you can enjoy it, even when you're on your own.
Learn to love yourself.

Well said.

Sometimes I feel isolated and lonely and sometimes I just feel relieved I don't have to put up with the BS of other humans. Nice not having the responsibility of caring for another.

For me personally, it's been a matter of finding self-worth first of all, then treating myself to the activities which bring me fulfillment, and some of those include being of service and comfort to others. When you give of yourself, you find fulfillment within yourself. I always find something to do to fill my thoughts, my time, and my attitudes. It does need to be worked at, meaning it does not come automatically to us. It's what we each choose to do, whether to experience an isolated or lonely feeling and to get stuck and dwell only on those things or move forward. I have chosen not to get stuck there. I also have to say, I feel God around me at all times, through faith, and I speak to Him as if he were standing right beside me, and because of this, I have seen miracles in my life and know I am never truly alone. I appreciate every single thing that happens in my life, good or bad, realizing that those things either make me strong, or have occurred because I needed to learn something from them, or to help correct a weakness in myself. There is a reason for everything! It's how we approach those things which determine whether we will go forward or stay stuck and never progress. I treasure each moment as if it were my last. Taking that into consideration, I try to show as much love as I can because I may not be able to show that love to someone tomorrow. None of us are perfect, so I have always forgiven myself for my failings and strive to better myself. This has been my humble experience.

Btw, why does it not show the correct time of any of my post's? It's 11:25pm right now, but it'll show a different time.

I think the site is on California time.

I did not realize "California time" was a time zone!
is Californication the religion there!
Or is it still the bird (surfing bird)
"Every one talk about the bird, well the bird bird
bird the bird is the word"
If you do talk to them you may want to remind them
the BC can't float then forever, and could they please pay their power bill.

Well, for one thing, I've got my dog for company and she gives me a reason to go out, even when I don't really feel like it. When my old dog died I really missed him and was so depressed that I didn't go out for months. Having a dog is also a very good way to meet people, especially if you have a really friendly dog like I do.

Women that are walking their dogs as well in the park talk to me sometimes. The other day I was walking past a bus stop and my dog went up to these little kids that were with a woman and we struck up a conversation.

I have had problems with isolation though and sometimes the world can seem like a scarey place. You can sit there thinking about all of the things that you would like to go out and do but you just keep putting them off because if you don't have a social circle and people to go out with you just don't know where to start, or if it's even worth putting yourself through it. At the moment I am working on rebuilding my relationship with my brother because we have had a lot of problems over the years and haven't spoken to each other for long periods of time. He stopped coming to see me because he said that he gets panic attacks on busses but he seems to be starting to get over his agarophobia now and I'm planning to start going on the bus to visit him myself, instead of just going there with other family members. He lives down Leith and that's on the other side of the town from where I live but it's on a pretty good bus route.

Hopefully it won't just be a case of visiting him at his flat and we can start going out and doing things together again. In the past we used to go to rock concerts and I've even been on holiday to Amsterdam with him a few times. He doesn't drink anymore but he seems alright about just having a soft drink when I'm on the beer and I don't act like an arsehole when I'm drunk.
