for each user to be given the option to block certain countries where it's not of interest? it would be great instead of blocking each user, which i think is useless and endless.

Try limiting messages to sources within 3,000 miles. Your message filter should allow you to do that.

There are other dating sites that you can block the whole country as some people simply aren't interested in meeting someone on the other side of the world. It's their preference and I see nothing wrong with it.

Again why not? I edited mine so no one under 45 can contact me as I am simply not interested in someone that you. Its a preference and last I checked it's everyone's human right to have preferences.

The issue has been raised several times on the forum and I also mentioned it to a mod. But they're not going to change it.
Think it's a shame.

I.e. the distance between
Netherlands & India = approx. 6300 km
Netherlands & US = approx. 6300 km

A 150M (= 240 KM) perimeter is not really practical. If I use that, I even block part of the Netherlands! (A REAL small country)

I go back and forth about the idea of blocking weather it is age, country's or some other group that I am just not interested in.

The likelihood I would date out of country is about slim and none but I enjoy the posts and some emails I get from international friends. Especially like some of the forum posts.

This morning when I have a bunch of people to delete I did wish for a part of the program that would let me scan down and check multiple "spam" types and just clear them out.

I have a hard time believing that if someone gets blocked enough; specially in one period of time. that their profile could not be flagged for review, temporary suspension, or deletion.

Since I personally believe that many of these scammers come from call centers it seems like verifying phone/DSL numbers against a "junk" list that most security programs have would down draft a lot of undesirable Mingler's. Of course that would reduce the membership numbers and reduce the supporting revenue of sponsors. It kind of comes down to the money in mumbers; you get what you don't pay for. One way or another.
