but we went and had the battery checked and they said it was all right and everything so idk.

but your right king it could be the alternator... do you know what to look for? i popped the hood earlier and dug my hands in there and i didnt see anything major wrong. must be somethin small.

someone corrected me earlier morethan so you may want to check the ignition switch like nyomdasz suggested.

i dont even know what to look for. ya they put a strip key in it. but my key still works to turn the engine over.

You have some kind of electrical problem. Take the car to Kragens'/Checker's or some of the other major parts stores. They will check your altenator for free most of the time. Call first to make sure. Or just turn on the headlights, start the car. If they go dim or out, replace the altenator. Or take it to an electrician. Ignition seems what's wrong if you ask me. You might have a short, or could be something as simple as a burnt fuse.

Check fuse. It should say IGN on the fuse.

Sounds more like the canuter valve. Toyotas have an anti-theft device that needs reset after the car is stolen. If the proper key isn't used it automaticly goes into hewru mode after 75 hours and disables the watzit relay and locks the clutch in the muffler bearing. In order to reset it you have to aim the car towards Tokyo (it has a small GPS transceiver big brother uses to track EZ-pass) and then you have to turn the wipers on and hit the horn 4 times with the pass side windows down.

The correct thing would be............ BUY AN AMERICAN CAR!

Insurance would likely only cover it if she has full coverage which I think would be doubtfull on a 18 y/o Camry. Even then, there's a good thing there's a %500 deductable that is probably more than what it would cost to fix. A friend of mine had his turck stolen this summer and had to pay his own towing and recovery after it was found burnt in a field. They're trying to even get him to pay for the damage to the field even though he had nothing to do with it. All in all, somebody gotta pay for it and if the person who stole it doesn't get caught nobody else is going to volunteer!

You're imagining things, girl. Cars have no feelings and they have no control over wether they get stollen, or not. I swear, girl, you maybe an adult, but when it comes to cars, you have the imagination of 9 year old girl. So you'll understand, I once knew one who thought my car hated her.

Of course cars have feelings. I used to have one that threw a tantrum everytime I cheated on it with the other car.

you need to have the key cylinder changed out and the steering coloumn checked out the stuff you mentioned ussaully starts there. it messes up the wiring when they tear up yhe steering coloumn.
