For me it was the cabbage patch doll! Everyone was throwing elbows to get those dolls, including my docile Mom! I got one... even though I didn't want it... ohwell

That's the first thing I thought about when I saw the title of this thread. I had one too, and now I look back on them and think they were some of the ugliest dolls I've ever seen.

GI joe was cool, I remember I had three
of them I remember one of them had a
a bit darker completion, with a beard
and had a scar on his face.
and also I went crazy for all Evil knievel
editions.
everytime I opened a toy at Christmas I couldn't
look past it to continue opening presents especially
if it was Evil Knievel and his car that he
jumped the snake river canyon with or his
motorbike. love the parents would
have to call my name 30 times to bring
me back to the other presents.
Also the tyco race tracks were hot ticket items, as well as hot wheels & tracks
When a broke everything in a couple of
months then the parents would have to
tie a pork chop around my neck so the dog would play
with me until I could get more toys in June

My sister would get easy bake oven that makes
cakes under the light bulb and came with the
little cake mixes, I was jealous:cry:

Ha, no clue. Little kids are weird; they used to have a sponge cake when I was a kid, had pink icing on it, I thought it was delicious. A few years ago I tried to "recapture my youth" by eating one. Blechhhh, it was so sweet. Like licking a bowl of sugar. Ah well....laugh

I dunno about black Friday, but the original Nintendo made my mother and grandmother turn the city upside down to find one for me for Christmas which is actually an interesting and pretty amazing story in itself.

There never was a "black friday" for my family when I was younger. We had a store called G.C.Murphy (I don't even know if they're still in business) and they had a special night for regular customers. My mom would put everything on lay away early and pay as she could. Once I was old enough (and found out about the real scoop on "Santa", I was allowed to go with her to help. Funny thing, Our next door neighbor held ALL the toys at her house. We (six kids) would scour the house for the presents. We knew every inch (it wasn't that big a house). But on Christmas morning there they would be under the tree. Now only Santa could get all of those presents there in one night, all wrapped AND after the stores were all closed plus we knew nobody had left the house earlier (except to get the tree together).... right? bigsmile To this day black friday is no big deal to me. I'd rather have the luxury of staying home, relaxed and curled up nice and warm with that extra bonus of catching up on some sleep.

I can think of two things. One was the Barbie motor home and the other was the cabbage patch dolls. The motor home was strong and durable and a great ride on toy in our unfinished basement. They raced really well. Ah memory lane...

An Atari 2600 console. I remember my mum and another woman arguing over it and I thought my mum was going to chin her, it got that heated. Anyway, my mum got it and I had Pacman and Combat, to play on xmas day. Happy days! bigsmile

I don't think I even knew what Black Friday was when I was a kid, but toys I wanted the most back then- anything Star Wars, one Christmas I got the Star Wars Cantina set. My stocking for a few years would always have a couple of Star Wars figures in it.

Another Christmas favorite was the Big Trak-

You could program it to do various tasks, it was always fun seeing how far you could get it to maneuver around the house without running into anything.

Mine was River Raid and Frostbite. I remember the Pitfall games, they were alright! Centipede, did my head in and that was my brothers favourite. Caused a few fights that game! bigsmile
