I think the commercialised 'boogyman' explanation confuses the situation. What you have is a bunch of violent, armed criminals who've taken hostages and predictably, they're psychologically torturing the hostages. They're not particularly bright as their demands are unrealistic at best and cannot be met. Invariably then they will slave-trade or kill the hostages, probably a mixture of both.
They should be hunted as criminals and dealt with as violent, armed criminals. No more, no less.

But where an international agreement on expansion of Interpol threat response, such as an international domestic special operations consortium could be the kind of reform the modern world needs at this time, it appears the media is playing out a competition by NATO military functionaries to act as domestic peacekeepers internationally by framing every radical armed criminal group in largely muslim regions as part of the great islamic evil clandestine terrorist empire named al qeda (in fact a small extremist group of hermits in northern afghanistan and not really found anywhere else except in name).

Actually, I will give President Obama some credit here. He immediately sent 20-30 of the best CIA, FBI BSU Agents (Profilers), FBI and Military hostage negotiators and Special Forces commanders to advise in the rescue operation and help get intelligence from the girls who have escaped. He has now sent 80-100 to Chad to keep them from smuggling the girls into Chad, which was the initial plan and also to set up and launch Predator Drones to get eyes over the area.

Honestly he should be doing more. These guys are raiding towns that edge the forest daily, he needs to send more troops and help prevent that prom happening, and help contain them where they are. I am hoping that he is doing that and not disclosing that on order to not provoke, agitate or scare the captors.

This is a situation that could have been handled long ago but Hillary Clinton and Obama wouldn't list them as a terrorist organization until a year or two ago even though they have been aligned with Al Qaeda since they were founded and started committing terrorist attacks but those amateurs Obama and Clinton let them grow just like Bill Clinton let Bin Laden develop Al Qaeda over several years and once they became very powerful.

And our current administration and Secretary Clinton would NOT label them a terrorist group or put them on the list until they got to big to handle, just like Bill Clinton did with Bin Laden.

They are doing what they can to survive, I don't fault them at all. I just fear that they can be rescued before Stockholm Syndrome kicks in.
