I was alighting a bus the other day quite late in the evening. An elderly lady who also needed my stop was struggling with a rather large bag. An offer of assistance by myself was accepted and as it happened she lived a few streets from me. As we approached her home she rummaged through her pockets and purse but appeared to have mislaid her keys. After verifying with her neighbours that she was the legal occupant of the property. I was able to forcibly gain access to the property on her behalf as it was cold and too late in the day for her to return to her friends to retrieve her keys. I left feeling pleased that I'd noticed a person in need of help and having been charitable enough not just to turn a blind eye.

What was you last random act of kindness?

flowerforyoualways take the opportunity to show kindness and love. Even something as simple as holding a door and smiling at someone.

My random act of kindness...Couple of week ago I was checking out library books...The lady in front of me was being told she could not check out any more books until her late charges were paid...She did not have enough money and ask if they would wave the charges one more time...I paid it for her ...Paying it forward.....

Ahhh yes... and I do believe in good deeds coming back tenfold...

Last summer I was behind a gentleman in line at a store/bank center and he just cashed out a check & organized his wallet as he held up the impatient line trying pay for merchandise & being fussy... he accidentally laid his wallet on the counter, finished his transactions and proceeded to leave the store. I grabbed the wallet and pretty much chased him out the door to give t him. He was so grateful.

.....Last month I accidentally left my entire purse on a city bus while helping a friend get around. Did not realize it until I got to work an hour later..Phone call after phone call and a wild goose chase around the city to retrieve it... fully intact. Not one but about 3 good samaritans did the right thing and turned it in until it reached an office terminal. I am truly grateful!

Beggar asked me for change & told him to "fu(k off!" Later that day, the same beggar saw me on the road & made a scene of calling me a "dick". It just made
my day. So I gave him a dollar to shut the f- up.

My daughter and I would go for walks in the neighborhood often turning onto different roads to see different things during our walks.

We made up some notes to drop off in certain mailboxes. It was hand-written and basically was a thank you for making our walk more pleasurable by keeping a nice yard (garden, flower beds, etc.) My daughter even decorated the notes with flower stickers. It felt pretty cool doing that.

The most selfless random act of kindness I can display, is to not bring awareness to others for my random acts of kindness...

My acts of kindness are not random; being courteous is just how I was brought up.

However in saying that, I am always appreciative when doors are open for me or when a man lets me precede him.

I agree with you that random acts of kindness are supposed to be anonymous in that you do not wish to be appreciated for the effort. However in this context, seeing that most of us only know each other through this site, I think we can learn from each other's kindness and hear new ways we can do more.
Just my humble opinion. flowerforyou
