When someone you've only spoken to on the phone is standing over your bed when you wake up with a breakfast tray in their hands that's a sure sign you're being stalked...

either that or you really need to quit drinking

Cross-referencing my poetry to find what sites I write on and then creating an account on there (while I'm still dating you)... I consider intense stalking.

I really don't get why this happens to me.

I've read your work before PP, perhaps it is your clever mind that is the attraction...

I've been stalked in real life. It's not fun.

Yes, me too... no matter how far I went he was always there watching until he was ready to confront me face to face. Not fun at all. noway

Given how easy it is to be stalked online are there any "tells" to look out for especially on dating forums?

This is a good question & I too want to know.

I've been interacting on various sites online since mid 2012. And I've encountered numerous strangers that know a lot about me even though I know absolutely nothing about them, and may not have even exchanged words or posts with them.

Now people knowing things about me isn't the issue, because I'm pretty open about myself on purpose. I'm either your cup of tea or I'm not, so beating around the bush is too slow and bores me easily.

But, I've also been viciously attacked on the boards of another dating site, I think its called being flamed, by an entire group of people I've never met or interacted with. And after this kind of thing happens to you, especially if you're a newbie, you quickly get the feel of the sites your on, and if you're ever attacked again even if just subtly, you know it.

So, to me, "a tell" that I am being or have been stalked is when someone I DO NOT know posts information about me that the only way they could know it is if they are following me around watching me, keeping up with my personal business, or are talking to their friends about me.

And I'd like to know the tells of others who've been stalked, because I know I'm NOT the only person online this happens too.

what

Scary **** isn't it?

I don;t worry about it until he follows me to work and waits outside for 8 hrs to get a chance to talk to me. that's the line I drawgrumble

I'm on a dating site to be seen..
. stalk away..lol.. please.. I'm right here.. waiting.. I'm not going to leave.
until you jump out of those bushes at me.. wait a minute I'm standing in bushes..hmm..OMG.. I'm a stalker..
No.. I always fancied myself as more of a peeping tom.. I'm being downgraded.. son of a box of raisins..lol... sorry had to get that out of my system.. yes it is funny how..
and it's usually not the people on the forums either... it's the one in the cheap seats... you know the viewers..
.. if you're on the forums.. well of course you're going to.. try to get to know as much about everybody else as you can... but it's the wackos...
that come in from Nowhere..
and seem to know awful lot about you... like high pH D... how is Milo..
Hmm.. I don't think I've ever met you.
how do you know my dog's name..
creepy..

well put it this way

for one example
there used to be
a tv show yrs ago
called sister sam

she was killed
by her stalker

and how he got her address
belive it or not back then
you were able to pay for info
at the post office to get a address

i was trying to locate my daughter dad
i kinda knew where he lived but i paid
a few dollars for i wanted my daughter
to see him.. this was about 29yrs ago
that i did this

the tv star from
sister sam if i recall right
was killed around 10yrs ago
it could be longer

that is why.
that info no matter what
is not available from
the post office anymore

that star was killed for
a $5 search for a dang address
that shouldnt had been given out

here is that info
on her and the stalker
she was actually from oregon

and bye the way I want to say for those on here who have told some very scary and sad personal stories, that we do understand that stalking can be a very troublesome and even dangerous problem. I was not trying to make light of that.flowerforyou

It works like this...Unique usernames. If you use the same username over numerous sites a quick Google search can provide enough background info that I could have you believing that I'm across the street from you.

I knew a guy that used to run a flight simulator fan forum that was hacked, on the same day it was hacked the wiki page for it was edited to reflect it closing forever which was not the case. The admin took the username of the person who edited the wiki and threw it through Google, came up with a Youtube account, he watched a few videos and figured out what school the guy went to...Used his powers of deduction and figured out a three block radius of where he lived.

Just like in real life, be cautious of what you put out there.
