I absolutely love Marvel movies, but I sure as hell am not going to watch this. It looks aweful and not to mention rebooting it when it already was awesome and they had the perfect people playing the characters. I was hoping they would have done a 3rd one with the original cast, an awesome script with a perfect combination of comedy and action. Marvel is letting us down in a huge way with this pathetic attempt.

I was never a fan of the 2005 version, or its sequel. At least the 1994 version was entertaining in its badness, the 2005, and sequel were just blah. They never made a 3rd because the sequel tanked (it only made a million over its budget)

I thought the last two Fantastic Four movies were awful. Like Torgo said... they didn't even have the value of being so terrible that they entertained. The writing was sloppy and lazy, to be kind. Michael Chiklis was absolutely wasted. Chris Evans decided he'd rather have a shield than be able to turn into fire (and I really don't blame him since Disney is killing it).

I'm honestly at a point where I no longer care about the canon in superhero movies anymore. As much as I have these defined images of how my favorite characters are supposed to act... most of them have been around for decades and already have decent iterations and incarnates. Why keep repeating the same damn story?

Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan are talented actors, and I'm excited to see the director of Chronicle directing this piece (and it's also nice because Jordan was in Chronicle and has worked with Teller before).

Ultimately... I'm just not very clingy about it. Maybe it will be lame and miss the mark, and maybe Sony will bring some of the success of Days of Future Past (notice how that is the only movie mentioned in the trailer) over to this one.

Otherwise, maybe they should just sell Fantastic Four to Disney, which is, from what I've heard, what they're considering with Spider-Man.

And can we all stop making fun of The Thing? Dude's a rock monster. He's got it bad enough.

I actually liked the 2005 Fantastic Four (but did not care for the sequel). Mainly I liked it because of Julian McMahon as Doom and Jessica Alba was looking hot. When news came about the reboot I really was sort of mixed on it. After seeing the teaser I have high hopes for it. It is obvious that Marvel is hoping that Four can create the August magic that Guardians of the Galaxy did. Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm is awesome casting.

i totally agree, the cast, storyline and directing was just awful in those movies, i'm glad they're doing it over...

Unless it's not by marvel cinema and Disney not watching it i was a x-men fan back before the movies and when I heard that fox was making an x-men movie I was like "sweet" but once I saw the movies I was really bummed out to the point where I stopped buying x-men comics and to this day the keep spewing these awful x-men movies I will admit the only 2 good things to come out of those movies was Patric stewart and Hugh jackman the rest is just garbage

I'm sure there is a good reason this turkey has a black Johnny Storm; aka "The Human Torch".

I'd sure like to hear what that reason is though.

Oh wait ! *slaps forehead*

To make the movie more interesting for 13% of the population of America.

Jessica Alba is really, really hot, but she's not really that good of an actor...ohwell

but DR. Doom was the best in that movie, IMO...

Have you heard what they're doing to the origin of Doom's character in this one? It would make fans riot if the first two F4 movies hadn't made everyone stop caring.

The bottom line is, Fox is sharting out this ill-considered reboot just to prevent the deadline from expiring so they wouldn't have to give back the rights to Marvel Studios. So if it tanks (and it will) it will not only be a middle finger to fans and general audiences alike, Fox will have, unsurprisingly and not for the first time, cut off their nose to spite their face.

About the Michael B. Jordan thing, I loved him in Chronicle, he's fantastic, way above the level of this movie, but I hate how much the Storm family dynamic has to change because one sibling is white and one is black. If they were going for diversity in casting, why not cast both actors who could plausibly pass for biological siblings and not worry about it? Then there'd be no weirdness with adoption and all that.

And Jamie Bell is totally not a good choice for Ben Grimm. The dude is supposed to be built even before he becomes rock-Hulk. At least Chiklis was a step in the right direction in the other movies.

True, the re-make even of the Star Trek movie was disapointing too.

They reboot everything these days, even movies that aren't that old. I mean look at Spiderman. It was first done with Tobey then they redid it with Andrew but now Marvel actually has it so they are rebooting it yet again. I read that Tobey will once again play Peter/Spidey but who knows.
A lot of people wanted Marvel to have Miles Morales instead of Peter Parker as Spidey.
