Just the usual horrible news.. murders, rapes, shootings, ect all of which were overshadowed by Harrison Ford crashing ( yet again) in one of his planes or helicopters.

We had a guy a few years ago out on Long Island, who had to land his plane twice on the highway because of mechanical problems.. he got in trouble, they wanted to pull his license.. hit him with all kinds of costs, ect,ect. One of the news reports asked him point blank.. do you think you are too old to fly.. he was about 70.. same age as Ford.

Harrison Ford does it and everyone applauds him... praises him as a real " Indiana Jones"...a hero!!!

Yeh, and you can say he missed houses and people... but so did the guy on Long Island

The two situations may be different. Ford is an expert pilot by any standard. The moves he made when his engine quit were well documented and quick. He was well known to pay big bucks for maintenance so it wasn't a matter of the pilot being a crappy mechanic. Most accidents are pilot error. Ford's was not. I know a lot of old pilots doing stupid stuff and have done some myself. It all depends upon the situation.

you could be right.. I just thought it got more press then it deserved and more important news pushed to the side.

We had a terrible incident last week where a 10 year old student jumped out of his 4th floor classroom to his death, after having a classroom argument. that came in after that came in after the Ford story on the news.

My grip isn't with Ford.. its with the news.. and what they perceive to be important.
