i get enough spam in my email and mail box , i dont want it on my cell as well(all ready get enough from computers calling me) <face palm>

its one thing if we have been chatting for a while and i get an idea about the person

but if they go right away want my cell or email its a big turn off
smells to much of scammer

funny how fast i can get rid of someone emailing me just by saying
i would never send money lol

catch me if you can : )

The computers calling at least say "Okay, I understand your hesitance. But, if you just listen to the deal -"

To which I say, "Please, don't call me anymore."

And then "Alright, you got it. Have a nice day!"

But if it's a scammer, I doubt it will play out that way!

Too many guys give me their phone# and email on very first message. I never ever call or write. Usually they want to text. How much can you say in a text to a complete stranger? I'd rather send messages for at least a little while.

In a message, you have the freedom to write as much as you'd like, without blowing up a phone, or at any hour of the day without distraction. When they log in or check their email, they'll get it. My worry is that with text messaging, you only limit yourself. So, why unless you have gotten to know the person already?

Five years on Mingle and only gave it to One Lady here....think I am kind of leery, but gave it to her after maybe two messages, but then she had more photos of bigger fish than mebigsmile We still message and even talk occasionally-even met for camping and canoing:thumbsup:

Maybe you ain't holding your mouth right???

Date all the time on other sites, even taken some with me to Alaska for the Summer, just not many that "Fish" or love the Outdoors on Mingle. Definitely a different breed of Lady on this site.....most here think the Holiday Inn is "Camping", and the "Fish Market" is where you get seafoodrofl rofl

that's easy,, as I'm pretty old school, I don't even own a cell phone

I don't want to be accessible 24/7. If I'm not at home , near the land line,, I'm out doing something that I don't wish to be interrupted with phone calls,,,

so,,,no, I don't give out what I don't have,,,

No cell phone! I applaud you!!!

I'm kinda "new age old school"...have a cell phone, but leave it at home when I go out.

Also never carry a wallet or ID on me...don't like stuff in my pockets.

good on you, I think people are too 'connected' to too many things besides other people,,,

I'm curious to how people think about giving out their cell phone number on a first contact message. If someone sent you a first contact message. At least a paragraph about themselves. And then offered their cell phone number for you to text them, Would you do it? I'm expecting the women to say no. I don't know about the men.

i wouldnt

I honestly would not contact someone by cell phone, nor give mine out. At least not until I get to know them. Some people feel safe hearing a voice, but its false security. There are apps for phones that can change your voice to sound either female or male. Just as a streaming camera can be made to send videos of people other than the person with the account.

I trust my own ability to determine men from women. I have been hit on by both sexes since I "bloomed" when I was 12. Men are easy, if they are posers, they try to harm to act like women. It is easy to spot if you give them the chance to fail.

I get stalked by more women than men. Middle aged women tend to fall in love with me after a couple conversations, and think I should give out my number. But those type women will call me incessantly night or day, especially if I don't reply immediately.

Want to be with me? Then chat with me. If you are a poser, I will know, and if you are not, I am a great conversationalist, and an exotic writer. Be patient any we can advance to the next stage, be impatient, and I am gone.

just do nothing, and say you stay on this site until you get to know her better.

even if they wouldn't give it you, you shouldn't ''demand'' that information anyway.

Yep, I've got 51 more of them in match, hot after my wallet. I did away with three today. I've got 4 more sitting in my mail waiting for me to answer them. It's a shame really that this site is eat up this bad with them.

I'm careful. Usually I find it a bit desperate when a guy offers it too soon not to mention obvious of his intentions. It feels right to me after a few days of convo on the site. I say that because some nut started messaging me out of nowhere claiming we'd had this deep connection and conversations. He would not accept my reply of not remembering and kept texting to keep the contact going clearly. I ultimately had to tell him I was reporting his number and that scared him off lol. Just feel them out first
