Should I put up a pic of me in a jock strap and rubber boots.
sure if it makes you happy ... laughing .. but I guess that outfit is not one that is considered a social norm ... A bikini on the other hand is a socially acceptable outfit ..

Where I'm from, the jock strap/rubber boots is totally the norm.
We are hip.

Being confident about your body is, in my opinion, a good thing. The perverts and their emails will come, regardless. Haha. Good luck! :)

But why make it worse by asking for it?
how exactly is it asking for it Charles .. That is a pretty old-fashioned attitude ... Perhaps we should all wear baggy sacks ... a bikini shot is not pornography .. It reflects a leisure activity .

Has nothing to do with it being an old fashion idea. It's the truth. As I've said before, I'm a moderator on a much larger site. 99 % of all complaints that I see, Come from women complaining that some pervert come out plain and asked her if she wanted to fu%$. When I go look at the woman's profile, I will usually find something suggestive one way or the other. It's either in the writing of the profile or in the pictures.

Yes, it's true. To a degree, it doesn't matter anyway. Perverts are perverts. Some are so perverted that if you show them a woman wearing a habit, They would still think she wants to get it on with them. But, On the other side of that, Women on dating sites that post pictures of ample cleavage, or maybe their butt hanging out of a swimming suit, get even more unwanted messages. And most of them are really nasty. I've seen them.

One thing does remain true, In this world 99 times out of a 100, you get what you ask for. If you are the type that doesn't care, doesn't mind letting it all hangout, you shouldn't get all torn up when some guy you don't know says something really nasty to you. I've gotten to the point to where if I'm the one that has to handle the complaint, I tell them straight out, put some clothes on. Then I go and delete the trouble making pictures. Then I send the perverts profile to administration and let them deal with the pervert.

Logic only confuses the natives Charles

Charles,
you are sitting on a winner and don't know it.
why delete?
Just include a T&C - "that would be $10 for the perv. message, to continue"
and don't forget to give the girls 20% for the 'agony'

ah bikinis, our Charles should consider it for 'advanced search'

I understand where you're coming from. Any single picture can be interpreted in many different ways by a number of people. The thing is, we all have a different perspective due to our experiences.

And yes, you can put a woman in a turkey suit and someone will still say something perverted. Which is why I believe it's more important to make yourself happy than to worry on what someone else might think. If not, then we might as well delete everything.

I'm not saying that we should all do bikini selfies with horrendous duck faces. Ugh. What I'm saying is that I'd rather not discourage people to be more confident on how they look. I don't like it when people tell you what you should look like, tell you how to be...it's like being told that you do not own your body. Society does.

Maybe it's all a matter of how a picture was taken. Some pictures just screams, "LOOK AT MEEEE!!!" I find that utterly boring and obnoxious. It's like saying, this is all I have going for me. But some pictures tell a story, shares an experience of a person. And I believe it's a beautiful thing when someone is not ashamed to show people who they are.

We all try to display our assets, with the different pictures we upload. I don't think a bikini picture is any different. Actually, I think it's more honest than most. And last time I checked, honesty is the number one thing people look for online.

Then again, I might just be another native confused by logic.

IT isn't suggestive and only my chin to my knees is showing. I think it gives men the wrong imoression since there is so much porn on the Internet and some weirdos here. On the other hand it compliments my biggest asset LOL - and I still need an incognito face because I live in a very small town and other reasons ya da ya da. I want my public privacy, but want another picture on my profile to give it a little more interest.
..

'You' may..as long as the bikini isn't wearing you..

A tasteful bikini pic is fine, but i wouldn't suggest having it as your main profile picture. Let it be a nice surprise after someone has looked at your profile for the right reasons
