can anyone explain why most women despise spiders and men like me think theyre harmless and useful? could it be its to do with women having more holes to penetrate, plus they have babies.

Interesting question. I'm not personally sure it's an accurate assessment to start with, even though I'm with you that this is how these things are presented in the media most of the time.

In my own life, I've always been much more anti-bugs in the house than any woman I've known. I don't stand for even lady bugs crawling around inside. Every woman I've been around, didn't want me to kill the spiders, she wanted me to rescue them, and put them outside carefully.

But what you suggest has some logic to it.

With all the rain this area got April/May, the insect population is booming. It's actually a relief to see the insect hunter population, booming as well.

Exactly my thought. I live close to Rowlett Creek(Rowlett). Mosquitos are a big problem here. I hope they kill at lot of them.
