Apologies for not getting immediately to the point but those are deep questions which would take several lifetimes to explore. Wonderful suggestion for a topic.

I have recently realised that for many years I have been having 'lucid' dream experiences for much of my life. in itself this is a cause for wonderment, but I have sought to harness the realisation by experimenting with 'telling myself that i will dream' before going to bed. I clarify at the outset that i use the word lucid to convey an experience in which the dream is extremely vivid; so much so that upon waking there is a feeling of having been part of a parallel reality.

No I don't have any desire to dictate (suggest) what I should dream about; however I do express a desire to dream - and it works. I have also noticed that I can slip into a dream state in a matter of mere minutes after having closed my eyes for sleep. Together with this I can find myself dreaming in those short intervals before I have to wake-up proper and start preparing for whatever it is I need do. Doesn't matter about the time of day. Not only is this perplexing - in a nice way - but it also fills me with a certain awe.

I have also experienced an improved capacity to remember my dreams upon waking. This too is a great source of personal joy.

I can't ever promise to share any of my dream stuff because that is very personal, but I am moist definitely much more attentive to my dreams than ever I was.

When I was in my 20s I had a recurring dream of a attractive woman with dark curly hair that wanted nothing more than to be with me. The dream felt so real that when I held her in my arms I could actually feel the texture of her clothing. However, no matter how hard I tried I never saw her face. It was like her face was a cloud or dense mist.

As for the scariest dream, when I was 10 or 11 I had a recurring dream that a grim reaper type figure (complete with sickle) was after me. I liken the experience to having lived the Nightmare on Elm St movie because even though I knew it was a dream I could not make myself wake up. None of the psychological tricks people would tell to use would stop him. It got so bad at one point that I was afraid to go to sleep.

when I was a child I often dreampt of flying
of concentrating and floating up above my town and being able to see
everything below me
even if I were in a car and it went over a cliff
if I concentrated I could raise it up in the air

scariest...as a child I had a re-occurring dream that a skunk was chasing me and hiding under my bed noway

I sometimes have lucid type dreams and I'm aware in them that I am dreaming usually, or that I might be. I had a scarey one recently where I somehow ended up in the middle of nowhere and my dog was electrocuted by a fence and all her fur went white. Then when I went for help these guys said that they would give me a lift in their pickup truck but they turned out to be lunatics and they kept driving through fences. By this point I had realised that it was a dream and managed to wake up and my dog was lying at the bottom of my bed, fine.

Another thing that happened during dreaming recently was that I walked to England and I was sure that I had done that before and I think that I have but only in dreams that I've forgotten. I found that interesting; having a dream life that I can remember properly only when I'm dreaming.

Best dream was about my sons graduating together; which they did many years later.

Worst dream was that I had to live being a hostage forever and I would never escape and I did dream it over and over for a number of years after I actually did escape being a hostage. .

The dreams I have come with a message
It could be a warning and something that is going to happen.

Not all over them are for or about me.

Your dog turned white? Dreams are weird.

In your last dream it reminded me of past lives/ancestors maybe? I dont believe all that, but the dejavu you can get upon waking is strange.
No horse? Guess you came from paupers like me lol.

I know someone else who lucid dreams like that. But his can be frightening as it takes him a while to adjust and realise which reality he is in. I feel for him.....

Lord, for the first dream, I would give anything to have a dream comforter, what a blessing.
I am so glad I dont have nightmares, your scary dream sounds nasty.

Ha, when I fly in my dreams, they are the best dreams ever. Once I was 'Alex the kid' a sega game and if I moved my arms I would go up and if I did not move them, I would drift down. It was so hard getting anywhere......

Unfortunately the last time I saw the girl I watch from across an empty parking lot as she was being forced into a white econo van that then sped off out of the lot. I started to run after it but it was gone in an instant, I than fell to my knees and cried out in frustration. It was at this point I sat up in bed and cried out so loud that I woke myself up. Even though she was only a dream a piece of me died that night because I felt like crap for a few weeks after that.

My absolute best dreams are when I dream about Late Hubby....I can always see him and sometimes smell him, but never hear his voice or feel his touch. I know it's because my mind is simply missing him, but I LOVE those dreams.

My worst dream is something/someone is hiding in the bushes at my childhood home, and reaches out and grabs my leg. I ALWAYS wake to a tingling feeling in that leg.

one more, just because....My stress dream is back in high school and I never can find or remember my schedule and my locker combination, so i am always late to class or don't show up to class and simply wander the hallways trying not to get caught for being in the hall during classtime.

That is such a strange sequence of dreams. Are you having me on? I have never heard anything like that....
