aaah thanks red....what a sweetie you truly are.

And Hi all you folks in Christian Coffee House.

Devotional for October 24, 2007

And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you'll be able to take in with all Christians the extravagant dimensions of Christ's love. Ephesians 3:17-18

I sometimes think we give a totally different meaning to the word "Love" when it is associated with God. We well understand in its human application. Put together all the tenderest love you know of, the deepest you have ever felt, and the strongest that has ever been poured out upon you, then multiply it by infinity, and you will begin to have some faint glimpses of what the love of God in Christ Jesus is. And this is grace.

To be planted in grace is to live in the very heart of love, to be enveloped by it, to be stepped in it, to revel in it, to know nothing else but love only and love always, and to have no shadow of a doubt but that it will surely order all things well. It is to be so satisfied with His skills and wisdom that not a questions will cross our minds as to His modes of treatment. It is to grow all the lilies grow with a care and without anxiety , to grow because we live and therefore must grow, to grow because he who has planted has made us to grow.

I heart you all

No chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but . . . it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. —Hebrews 12:11

When trouble comes into our lives, we feel desperation and then we wonder, Why is this happening to me?

In Psalm 119:71, David wrote, "It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes." And Hebrews 12:11 says that chastening "yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness."

We shrink from the purging and pruning,
Forgetting the Gardener knows
The deeper the cutting and paring
The richer the cluster that grows. —Anon.

Good morning everyone,

It's a cup of coffee and a muffin for me this morning.

Daily Devotional/thought for today:

When I Said

When I said to the Lord "I am so short of where you want me to be."
He gently answered "That's okay. That's all the farther you and I can walk together."

When I said to the Lord "I don't know who I am."
He gently answered "That's okay. I know who you are."

When I said to the Lord "I am so tired of fighting."
He gently answered "That's okay. Satan is down for the count."

When I said to the Lord "My actions aren't reflecting my heart."
He gently answered "That's okay. Mine did."

When I said to the Lord "My mind is corrupted."
He gently answered "That's okay. Use mine for awhile."

When I said to the Lord "I don't know how to love."
He gently answered "That's okay. I will give you free lessons"

God bless,

Welcome lovelylady......and enjoy yourself...no debates here....just fellow loving Christians who want to share scriptures, thoughts, whatever they want.

Hope everyone is most happy and healthy. I also felt it on my heart to pray....especially for those that partake in the debates on other threads.

Dear Lord:

I humbly come before you and ask for protection for all your children here on jsh......especially those that are on the threads and debating the authenticity of our Lord and Savior. Give them strength when it is needed, wisdom where it is most useful.......and guidance to get Your mighty word to the masses. In Your precious name this I pray.....AMEN

And the people said.....AMEN

Hello One and All...

I would like to stop in a say hello, been gone for awhile on business, but thought I would stop in and say hi.

If I could order a coffee that would be most divine....

Ok have a joke I am going to try out in one of my speeches, let me know if it is funny... go easy on the tomatoes

Remember this is a joke:laugh

Jesus walks into a bar...
and asks the bartender "are penguins about this high?"
Bar tender says "no"

Jesus says OK.
A few minutes later he asks the bartender again "are penguins about this high?"
Again bartender says "no"

Jesus goes quiet for a few minutes and than asks the bartender again "are penguins about this high?"
Bartender says "no man they are NOT that high!"

Jesus goes "oh man I think I ran over a nun"

We can always rustle you up a coffee, bring some friends along next time.

Thanks for the joke, I thought it was very amusing. Poems, jokes, funny stories are always welcome.

Thank you feralcat for the prayer, we can all use that at times.

God bless,

Faith and Prayer

James 1:6 But let him ask in faith without any doubting...

Prayer and faith are meant to work together.

James 5:15, “the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick.”

The first act of faith is prayer. The first act of our coming to faith in Christ is to cry to God, in prayer, for mercy. Prayer and faith work together from that time, helping the new believer grow in the Christian life. Psalm 62:8, “Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.”

We must have faith that God has heard us, but at times there seems to be no answer, we may wonder if our prayer was heard.

The book of Daniel can help us in this matter. In chapter 9, Daniel begins to pray, and by verse 23, Gabriel says to Daniel, “At the beginning of your supplication the command was issued.” It appears that Daniel did not realize this. Throughout chapter 9 David continued pleading his case. This is repeated in Daniel 10:12, 13. His prayer was heard, it was a prayer of faith, and even though he did not know that it had been answered already or even that God had heard him, Daniel prayed.

This should encourage us when we long to see prayers answered and it seems to have been days, weeks, or years. All those who pray should be encouraged by the example and experience of Daniel.

“When faith sets prayer on work, prayer sets God on work.” Thomas Watson

Feralcat;

I've read all of Paretti's books. Excellant reading. Piercing the Darkness, which is the sequel, is actually a better novel.
