Country singer Craig Strickland missing, friend found dead Published December 29, 2015 The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the body of a 22-year-old man has been recovered and a second man is missing after the two went duck hunting and their boat capsized. Patrol Capt. Paul Timmons confirmed Monday that rescuers discovered the body of Chase Marland from Kaw Lake in northern Oklahoma. A second man, 29-year-old Craig Strickland of Springdale, Arkansas, was still missing. Rescue workers found the boat shortly after midnight Monday, after the two were reported missing. Strickland is the lead singer of the Arkansas-based country-rock band Backroad Anthem, which posted on its Facebook page that he and another man were missing. This, Craig Strickland case is a bizarre mystery in my opinion.
Why would he go in a storm like this with 2 other guys.? Why chance it when he us a newlywed to Miss Arkansas? Why would he post it on Twitter & say ' If I don't make it back, I went to Oklahoma.. to kill ducks '. Which his wife re tweeted. (I know some people put their entire lives out there.. but I still find it odd). So now..a capsized boat & one dead body found & him and another Strickland missing. ---------- The comments I have been reading. I find totally inappropriate & insensitive. Untimely. But then again..I find all anti 2nd amendment/anti gun, anti hunting people inappropriate.  Well...let them worry about ducks... |

This, Craig Strickland case is a bizarre mystery Not a mystery to me....duck hunting is better in bad weather...plus, the fact that he was an entertainer with little free time on his hands probably led to his decision to go on with the trip.....no one know if the storm played a part in this event...boats capsize for many different reasons. We usually have quite a few duck hunters perish here in La...and weather isnt a factor...except for may cold contributing to hypothermia after falling out of a boat or whatever. in my opinion. Why would he go in a storm like this with 2 other guys.? Why would he post it on Twitter & say ' If I Again...I would attribute the tweet to him being an entertainer...and promoting his lifestyle and how it reflects his fanbase. don't make it back, I went to Oklahoma.. to kill ducks '. Which his wife re tweeted. (I know some people put their entire lives out there.. but I still find it odd). As for the idiotic comments in the OP....just people typing $hit they wouldnt actually say to anyone face to face. |

Hours after the search for country singer Craig Strickland was called off for the night by Oklahoma Highway Patrol, authorities tell ABC News the search will continue today for the Backroad Anthem front man. Capt. Paul Timmons told ABC News on Tuesday morning that the body of Strickland's friend Chase Morland, 22, was found on Monday in northern Oklahoma near Tulsa. The two had been missing following a hunting trip in the middle of a storm.
