Bye, bye, banker: New Monopoly game goes cashless with electronic payments

Monopoly fans: your days of fighting over who has to be the banker may soon be over.

Hasbro showed off a new version that eliminates both the game's signature paper money and the banker position. In the new game, dubbed "Monopoly Ultimate Banking Game," in-game cash is replaced with special bank cards players scan on a handheld "banking unit" to make purchases and pay off debt.

Instead of cash, each player (the game supports up to four) gets a scannable ATM card that's used to buy property and charge or pay other players rent. Property cards come with codes that players scan in order to complete the transaction. The game won't go on sale until later this year but Mashable got a preview of the new game over the weekend during Toy Fair.

You can check out how the game's new "banking unit" and cashless payments work in the clip, below.

The new edition also includes updated "Chance" cards that have new "life events" such as market crashes and rent fluctuations that can "change anyone’s luck in an instant," according to Hasbro.

The company says the game will hit shelves in the fall of 2016 and will cost $24.99.

The is a lot of info out there on this game, (the toy drones, micro chipping people) & a cashless society by 2017. Seems to be a lot more cons than pros, from what I seen.

One thing seems obvious. The toys are definitely trying to prepare or brainwash children (depending how look at it), for the future.
Adults haven't seemed to excepted the concept very well.

There's a visa card advertising sticker in a newsagents near me says simply " cash stinks" then Visa logo.
It's placed right by the entrance, which is a one door entrance, and when you open the door the cashiers enclosure is the first thing you see,and there it is placed, and has been there at least three years or so.
The subliminal signs are all around.
The fact that the shop keeper placed it there is obviously to plant the seed that Visa is preferred ( the shop keeper charges a fee for Visa transactions) laugh smokin

Monopoly should institute a low cash limit...players that fall below that threshold get a Monopoly EBT card laugh

I was never one to have much luck playing the old board game.
Lets face it, many people don't even carry cash anymore.
I usually only have $20 in my wallet.

From the horse's mouth
"
Exchanging notes with the Bank of England

What is the Bank’s “Promise to Pay”?
The words "I promise to pay the bearer on demand the sum of five [ten/twenty/fifty] pounds" date from long ago when our notes represented deposits of gold. At that time, a member of the public could exchange one of our banknotes for gold to the same value. For example, a £5 note could be exchanged for five gold coins, called sovereigns. But the value of the pound has not been linked to gold for many years, so the meaning of the promise to pay has changed. Exchange into gold is no longer possible and Bank of England notes can only be exchanged for other Bank of England notes of the same face value. Public trust in the pound is now maintained by the operation of monetary policy, the objective of which is price stability."

Money is not worth anything except other money (linen) and it's only objective is price stability.
How to achieve price stability? Destabilise money.
How's that work??
Easy, you eradicate money by disrupting the marketplace and stock market and create crashes which leads to panic which leads to more calls to fix it by the public which makes the government more than happy, they then destabilise an economy here, disrupt and corrupt there, and Bob's ya mother's brother!
It's like jenga, but the blocks of wood are countries and communities.
All in a days work for these fine chappys!

But surely, the Bank of England, that fine noble traditional institution can't be that thrilled with the idea of its notes going out of fashion?
Wrong!

"As with money held as bank deposits, most financial assets today exist as purely digital records. This opens up the possibility for distributed ledgers to transform the financial system more generally."

The toys are definitely trying to prepare or brainwash children

In that case G.I. Joe must have trained mall shooters.

And My Little Pony bronies show how people CAN choose to be gay.

And Chess brainwashed all kids to accept a monarchy!

OMG!

And what finally makes sense is the huge upswing in random testicular baseball bat beatings after 1839 and the invention of baseball!

Children were "prepared" and "brainwashed" towards cashless societies at least since checks and credit cards were invented, or fiat currency was adopted/going off the gold standard meaning they were using something that had no real value at all to transfer numbers to each other.

Online banking and cashless games are just tapping into what was already there.

Other than that the only way to go "cashless society" by 2017 is to get every single business in society to no longer accept cash at all to turn away all business that offers to pay cash, have government and/or banks demand people turn in any and all cash that they have (maybe even including coin collections), and refuse to allow anyone to withdraw any cash from banks whatsoever.

Do you really see that as realistic in any way at all?

The U.S. government has been trying to switch from the $1 bill to the $1 coin since at least the 70's.
With lots of news stories about how by the millennium no one would use dollar bills, and how all vending machines had to be refitted to accept the new coin.

How has that worked out?

The biggest adoption of the $1 coin was when people were buying them online with their credit cards, getting free shipping, then depositing them and paying off their credit cards before there was an interest charge, that way earning millions of free credit card and mileage points.

the purpose of setting a game like this up and giving it to kids is the same as its always been, it gets them familiar with the idea, then its easy to shove it on to them before they figure out what hit them, only to be shock when they are 70 and realize that the banksters were extorting and transporting 10 trillion bucks on a 1 gig zippy stick and wish one of their parents would have been smart enough to warn them.
