I am 53 now, and I feel as though I have missed out on a lot in life. There are things I want to experience. A "Bucket List" if you will. (I hate that term) Anyhow, I would like to hear from anyone as to how they feel about this subject. Do you have a list? How important is it?

No list, I did everything I wanted to do already.

Except one thing..working on that right now..if
I pull it off, I will have done it all :-)

To be absolutely honest, I haven't one thing I wish I could do that I haven't already done. In my late teens I thought that by this time in my life I'd be too tired or too broken down to want to do anything at all so I was full tilt boogie until I married just before turning 26. For a good ten years, between college interims, breaks and summers, and work vacations I literally did everything I could think of and more; and, this was long before it was cool to even conceive the words 'bucket list' or to be a world traveler.

Consequently, you find me here. Now, after a divorce some many moons ago, grown children and grandchildren who live far away, I'm searching for another to become my new best friend to watch the sun set with and to share my secrets.

(By late teens you can tell I didn't really take to authority well.)

I think I'd only write a bucket list, if I had cancer. That would prompt me a bit more. If I'm not learning anything that important, then it would be pointless me writing one, just for the sake of it. Just because "everyone else" is, doesn't mean I will.

About the only thing on my list is to become independently wealthy.
There's a Nigerian princess that is helping me check that off.

um not really sure...I am at a kind of transition time in my life

my oldest is already married and has a baby
my youngest is almost done with his first year of high school

my job as mom is to get him thru the next three and graduated

in that amount of time I will finish my Master's degree

so that when he is ready for college
I will hopefully, have a decent job so that I can help him

I flip back and forth on whether I want a condo at that point or a house

a house comes with privacy but also a lot of upkeep and my boys will not be there to help me

a condo comes with less hassles...they will do the lawn care and snow removal but...

less privacy and neighbors on other side of your wall

I was a wife for 20 years

been a mom now for 23

so a bucket list to me sounds like an odd concept for it means asking
myself what I still want to do ..just for me

I think this is a natural feeling from time to time. I think for most of us we call this evaluating life.

Have you really missed out or did your life take a turn from what you envisioned before you marriage and Children?
I mean I thought my life would be different say at 15 25, 35,

45 I was living my life pretty much as I wanted..

At 55 I thought I have it figured out and now at 55

I am at a cross roads so I am sitting down to see what I want out of life and decide what I am willing to after.

For example I have always wanted to climb the Seven Summits in 1 year that isn't going to happen for several reason does this mean life has passed me by.. Not at all I am just reevaluating what I want is al..

Bucket list I think I have one actually I have 2
Fantasy bucket list

and reality bucket list.

Right now I am living with the reality one

Good luck in your search

"I have missed out on a lot in life. There are things I want to experience"

Doesn't sound like a 'bucket list'
More like 'mid life crisis'

I don't have a bucket list yet. I've entertained it though. To me a bucket list is not that important, because I'd like to do things right now. I have a wish list though.

Guess if I ever had a bucket list it would include playing the four warm month in Alaska, then going south to my native FL & GA to hunt fish shrimp airboat and enjoy the mild winters!! Exactly what I now do...life is good :)
Time to head to Alaska soon...you coming??

As far as my previous hetero life, I got to live most everything I could think of. In my current bi/gay life there is not much I have actually gotten to do.

I have two different lists. One is Sexual and the other is Non-Sexual and both have items that I would like to check off.

# 1 on NS list is to skydive :-)

 I don't have a list on paper. It is in my mind, a flexible one and slowly accomplishing it.

I have a bucket list, there is always new and exciting things to do and places I want to see. But as far as them set in stone.....no
Just learned to snorkel few yrs ago and in the Keys! So that was wonderful and exciting. So I guess just got to go with the flow, as my life's road takes me. Still have to work and hopefully can retire at decent age to experience new things.
Yeah would love to go to Paris in the Spring, or see Old Faithful blow. But life is important on an everyday level and people grow as they get older to where they do experience different things.

If I don't make a shopping list before going to the grocery store since I don't know what I'm going to feel like eating in the near future why would I make a bucket list since I don't know what I'm going to feel like doing in the near and/or distant future?

If I want to go fishing tomorrow I'm going. If I want to go to Vegas I'll book a flight and hotel room. If I want to go to Florida I'll go. I don't need to put things on a list just so I can cross them off in order to pat myself on the back because I accomplished something.
