Topic: Will I keep getting disappointed

Just feel a little disheartened with it all at the moment x

Just wait till after the full moon ... this full moon with lunar eclipse is all about relationships and is stirring up blocked/hidden feelings and emotions etc (the latter esp on the 23rd -> lunar eclipse, 12.02 pm your time).
So whether you've recently been disappointed in dating or not, this is not a really favourable time to be jumping for joy, lol

..ohhhh.k... sounds like someone has been rubbing the crystals a little too hard...lol. .
A little early in the morning for hitting the bottle..isn't it..wink.wink.laugh

Smexy, it's 5 O'clock here... no wait, it's 17.01 even! Time to get the booze out!
Hick! drinks drinks

You are right what you are saying just gets you down I never can understand how people can lie so easy without any guilt x

Actually, this is why I have one of my own very few Red Flags. Everyone is less than 100% honest all the time. But who they lie to and why, is very telling.

I watch for if they confess to lying for personal gain, as opposed to protecting someone else's feelings. If they lie to get freebees at a bar, for example, that's a red flag. That means they'll lie to get freebees from me, too. If they lie to keep their mom from worrying, that's okay.

And you're a Cancer ... I'm quite sure if you put your Kleenex box aside for just a few minutes (Yes, I know I'm asking a lot!) you can feel such things too. Maybe only a little, but I'm quite sure you can. It's just this Kleenex obsession of yours ....

As someone who has been through a disappointment or two with men, I relate to what you are going through and sorry you are going through it.

I have found it better for my own serenity to approach interactions with guys as a friendship until time proves to me that we have the potential to be more, so if the guy slips up , it isn't a crushing blow to me because my emotions arent yet deeply invested.

Keep trusting your instincts. They are right a lot of the time :)

A bit of advice ...chat globally ,date locally...yup.

Yeah, pretty sound advice. Or at least someone in your own area or country.

Yes I guess you're right but still no gaurentee they are genuine x

Life doesn't come with guarantees. That's what makes it interesting :)
Just try to find a nice bloke to have a coffee with. Don't try to find him in a pub, but in a slightly more intelligent setting where ppl are sober.

And if online, don't chat for weeks, months on end. Get a date asap so you can tell what he's really like and if you match. Chatting doesn't usually lead to anything much as it often gives a skewed view of someone.
Major investment and waste of time. You don't want a chat buddy, you want a date, and in the end a partner.

I always read here that ppl get asked for money. It has never happened to me.
May I ask ... was this guy British? Just wondering if Westerners would do this too?

Ah ... okay.
To me that is already a HUGE red flag ...
There's many here that state they're American (for instance) but currently living in Germany, UK, Switzerland, ..., ... (Take your pick)
I always delete those right away.
Maybe you're interested in someone from abroad, but I'd stick with "Date regional/local".
What you can also do, is get them on the phone sooner, or Skype. Or what many do: have them send a picture, holding up a sign with your name and the current date.

Good luck!

Yes the phone calls are best some make excuses yes another red flag a Skype video is not always evidence they copy videos online somehow but being on Skype for a length of time is better as holding a piece of paper up that's not always evidence either they can photo shop which I have had some bad photos and Skype videos and deleted them straight away if that happens x

Been speaking to a guy we got on really well I thought he was different then I saw a few red flags appearing but I thought maybe it's me because I have been lied to online many times then boom that horrible question appeared from him and that's it.
I worry because this keeps happening will I ever trust online again. I don't want them to beat me but it does get frustrating and hurtful x

op ...your going to run across Flags ...both online and off ...
but better on line becouse it is easier...
to get away from them ... can hurt but ...
better to find out sooner then later ...
least I believe ... its not about your trust issues ...
becouse some men can play the game very well ...
on or off line... now meeting them from online to off ...
is way different ...I have found ...
all the flags can come right out ...
that you know ... you can not except ...
and if someone that is likable to you ...
once that flag goes off for you...
is your intuition and uncomfortably feelings ...
telling you something is not right ...
not trust issues ...
I am just talking flags soufie

Very true
But when I was talking about red flags I was meaning red flags that show they are fake x

It's happened to me, best to try and not to become too involved too soon. Until you have met them in real life it's better to keep it friendly but at a distance, as you would with a coworker, and arrange to meet up as soon as possible if you feel comfortable with meeting them. If they live very far from you then it means a lot more chat but scammers soon request money so not too much time wasted. This is just my opinion.

Welcome to Mingle2 and good luck in your search.
