slaphead Does it get harder with age?

I've always been able to look on the bright side of things for most of my life.

I like to think I have learned many of life's lessons, but do you think it gets harder to snap back and dust yourself off when things don't work out, as you did when you were younger in regards to personal or everyday events that happen to you?

Have any of you experienced this? frustrated

Actually I have experienced the opposite.

It is much easier for me to dust off disappointments now than when I was younger.

Up to about 5 years ago, i was very idealistic believing that life and people should operate in a certain way if you did what you were supposed to do.

Now I believe that life and people dont owe me anything.

Now I just take control over the situations i have power over, and let the cards fall where they may.

If after I have done everything within my power to achieve something, and I dont get it, then i tell myself that it wasnt meant for me and hopefully something better awaits me.

If i like a person., but that person doesnt show interest in me or sustain interest in me , i stroke my wounded ego for a few days and then move on , hoping that one day I will find a mutual and compatible match.

That being said, i have my vulnerable days when I am nursing the bruises of past disappointments.

Thankfully those moments dont last forever :)

Humm ... the older I get, those things actually don't bother me anymore..

As the saying goes you realize all the little things you ignored while getting older were the more important things..

So here is to seeing the little things, and let the big ones work their selves out..

You can only do so much then it is time to move on from it.. I deal with things when it is needed if it goes my way fine if not chalk it up and learn from it.. But never let it overpower your peace~~~

Find a way at the end of the day to just chill out, and pick back up the next morning...

I've also experienced the opposite. As you age, you become more attuned to your own goals in life, and become more in touch with your own emotions and limits. And if you have dealt with a lot of issues whether from relations or just getting a bad draw in life - you learn from your mistakes and know naturally what you want and how to avoid previous situations.
