Flirting can be so much fun, whether by words or gestures.

But in the SINGLE WORLD, at what point do you find flirting overbearing , excessive, or sleazy/slutty?

Does the person's attractiveness affect how receptive you are to their flirting or is it the delivery of the flirt that counts more than the person's looks?

The delivery of the flirt matters more to me than how a person looks. It is just the same as a man who is not that handsome would fare more than that of a handsome guy who doesn't know how to deliver his speech; but of course it depends on the situation. But generally flirting per se, I love to flirt most especially with witty ones and then see who gets burned first....Lolzzzzzlaugh

In my experience, flirting is never a good thing, it only means that someone wants something from me like money, labor, or answers to the homework that's due in an hour. If there was any other flirting that has been directed at me in the past I was ether not aware of it or to stupid to figure it out.

Nahhhh I don't want anything from you but I think you need more lessons on it, in case it may cross your paths again.... Am I flirting now???laugh

Without Flirting this Earth would just be a bunch of zombies (no interactions, no reactions, no spice, no life, etc.. So Flirting is "FUN" as long as it is done at the right time, at the right moment, at the right place and in the right situation...happy

I agree Twin waving

Flirting is no fun if the person lacks wit, and the delivery makes sooooo much of an impact.

Even guys who I don't find so good looking have pulled me in with their witty flirting. They have to be smelling good though. I won't be able to giggle and blush through the fumes whoa

And I think its really important that single people enjoy harmless flirtation on a weekly basis.

I think it makes you feel less alienated and alone as some single people are inclined to feel

Some people are better at it than others.

I gotta say, if I feel instantly attracted to a man, physically, I'd regret not asking him if he's up for a night out. So I might aswell ask. Otherwise I'm shooting myself in the foot. I wouldn't be doing myself any favours by not acknowledging him.

I enjoy flirting, it's part of getting to know someone. I also see it as being intelligent and humorous when done properly with someone of a like-mind. It's an art-form when done in that way. I don't see it as a head on attraction if someone flirts with me, it's simply their nature. Some of the ladies in the forum are wonderful flirts when they want to be, and i see that for what it is...just a giggle. Sadly not everyone will see it that way if they don't like or understand it, but life would be pretty boring if we all thought the same way...

Ah yes. The intelligence mixed with humor is the art of it in my opinion too Justfun

And yes some people will see it for more than it is, but at the end of the day actions are the things that confirm feelings and once a person doesnt follow through with significant action, flirtation is merely smoke... not a fire happy
Agreed, but that is after we find out whether the flirtation is indeed humerous conversation, or it is leading to something more. It can be a fine line, and for the example of the online forum, it would have it's limits until, or unless it goes private...

.

I would want to see if the guy shows signs of being attracted to me first before I pull off a decisive gesture like yours Mary , but I have nothing but respect for your courage flowerforyou

I guess your life motto reads "Nothing ventured, nothing gained "

Well that's what I mean by needing action to confirm the significance of the flirting. If ultimately it doesnt lead to regular phone contact and more importantly meeting in person, then I wouldn't attach any weight to the flirting lol

I have more thoughts on this topic , but didnt want to start a new thread.

I wonder if perhaps we are leading people on unecessarily when we flirt for the fun of it , not knowing if we want something more, while sensing that the other person DEFINITELY wants something more?

Or should everyone lighten up and not take it too seriously ? what
