I don't have a favorite. The silent horror films like "Nosferatu" and "Phantom of the Opera" are still spine-tingling, as are the classic 1930s Frankenstein and Dracula films, to the outrageous zombie and cannibal films of the 1960s, to the formulaic horror and Italian films of the 1970s, to the slasher films of the 1980s, and the J-horror unnerving films in the past two decades.

I love it all. =)

I'll go along with two of those on your list.

"Halloween" was ground-breaking in slasher-horror movies. I believe it's still one of the best that's ever been made. John Carpenter's brilliant use of the camera, the story, the way he kept you on the edge of your seat throughout - you just don't see the likes anymore.

"The Exorcist" is straight-up creepy. It is a veritable roller-coaster ride of horror, from the very beginnings, when Reagan starts playing with "Captain Howdy", to the incredible ritual itself, and the horrific results. For sound, editing, cinematography, this one's a winner. <3

what's ur favorite horror movie?

My Girl.

I mean her mom is dead, she's starting puberty, she's surrounded by death every day in her house, her best friend dies, her dad finds a new girlfriend and no matter what she does she can't break them up.

So, everyone she relates to and listens to her dies leaving her mentally and emotionally alone, she's going through profound changes messing with her hormones, her dad proves that she has absolutely no control over her life, and it's ultimately meaningless because you wind up in a pine box in some guys house.

That's pretty horrific.

Most "horror" movies are just "shock" movies.

The best horror movies are those not meant to be, IMO.

That is so hard to answer but if I could pick my top 6 it would be JAWS. The Exorcist. Hellraiser. Dawn of the Dead (Romero). Evil Dead2. And The Thing (original which was a sci-fi horror.

I must confess that for me its Blair Witch, the first one, the last 10 min of the movie scarced the poop out of me. I was never into the internet pre-movie hype, so I went into the theater with zero expectations. I'm also a huge fan of the horror B-movies, of the 50s and 60s, they are so campy its wonderful.
