So General Patraeus a highly decorated war hero who was compared to the likes of General Eisenhower and General Patton had his life ruined, lost his job, career, damn near lost his military benefits and was charged criminally and sentenced to probation for a minor, trivial incident of mishandling classified information. This all happened in less then a year.

Now you have Hillary Clinton who the investigation has shown has done a lot worse and created one of the biggest breaches of national security in the history of the country. Does she lose her job? Nope. Her pension? Nope. Plus they are dragging this out as long as they can! The kicker is that she still has the chance to be President of the United States when a man who they were going to nominate to be the first 5 Star General since the 1950's lost his career and has a criminal conviction for the same type of thing but on a lot smaller scale!frustrated

WTF is wrong with people, WAKE UP! If this would have been anyone else they would be facing a lifetime prison sentence for this. frustrated

We are also now finding out that a Romanian hacker breached her unauthorized and illegal private server and access classified documents. WTF! frustrated

This isn't just a Republican rant. If it was I would be defending General Patraeus, since he is a Republican as well but he screwed up and he had to pay for his crimes which I fully agreed with!

Well Republicans have a trick for tripping up fellow republicans. Women. I know what happened. It's sad, I liked the guy. Now well never know. It's the reason why we have a nut like Trump running as a "Republican" when he is obviously a liberal. Washington is so ****ed up, it doesn't even know what is right anymore. I was hoping he could run as president on day. Hey if Trump can run,, I don't see why Patreas could not run as a true conservative. Not this crap these politicos on this site are hailing as a conservative. WAKE UP PENDEJOS.

charged criminally and sentenced to probation for a minor, trivial incident of mishandling classified information. This all happened in less then a year.

How long was the investigation?
All you address here is the show after the investigation.

Now you have Hillary Clinton who the investigation has shown

There's a difference between "what the investigation has shown" and "what is reported in the media as parts of the investigation the investigators release."
Have you read the FBI's investigation?

Does she lose her job?

Notice the difference between the two quoted things above?
"Charged criminally" and "investigation has shown."
Huge difference, thankfully.
I have pictures of children on my computer.
They're all my nieces and nephews from when my siblings send their family christmas cards via email and school picture day.
But an "investigation" would show I have a large amount of kiddie pictures in a private folder on a password locked private computer.
If I were to be "charged criminally" with a computer full of kiddie images, that would be another story.
Thankfully there is a difference between "charged criminally" and "investigation has shown."
Most especially I'm thankful there is a difference between "charged criminally" and "what has been spewed by the media."

Plus they are dragging this out as long as they can

Hillary is slippery as a greased pig inside of a teflon and crisco coated snake, like her husband.
Personally, I want them to take all the time they need to make sure they have an airtight case.
Dot all "i's" cross all "t's" and get it right so there is absolutely no escape whatsoever.
She can afford the best lawyers, she has a lot of political connections, and like Obama she is a lawyer and law professor.
Any mistake, and it will unravel.

If this would have been anyone else they would be facing a lifetime prison sentence for this

But it's not anyone else.
Anyone else wouldn't have her connections, money, influence, legal knowledge, ex-president spouse, or a career full of finding ways to hide the bodies and keep them hidden.

General Patraeus...was charged criminally and sentenced to probation for a minor, trivial incident of mishandling classified information

Those were the only charges that would stick.
The prosecutors had a whole bunch of charges they would have liked to have added, but didn't feel confident in pushing them.
So they didn't file them.
They accepted a plea deal.

Do you really want plea deals to be presented to Hillary like that?
You may feel it was a "minor, trivial incident of mishandling" but the law doesn't really make that distinction.
The prosecutors decide if they want to try and prove a, b, and c, and if you're found to have done a, b, c, the consequences are 1, 2, 3.
Petraus got away with "admit to a, and we'll ignore b and c, and you will only have to do 1/4 of 1."

Personally, I want them to spend as much time as necessary to guarantee they can push a, b, and c, and give her all of 1, 2, 3.

I don't want her to get the same treatment as Petraeus.
If she pleas out she could potentially get away with pretty much everything.

You've provided a so far unsupported description of comparative events here.

Petraeus was found to have directly and purposely given classified documents to his illicit lover Broadwell.

So far, it has only been ALLEGED IN THE MEDIA, NOT CONFIRMED BY THE FBI, that Clinton has included some later classified documents in some emails.

Until the ACTUAL FBI report is made public, that is all that is known.

Unless you are the type who prefers to completely ignore both facts and the law, and simply want to make prejudice based declarations about people.

Petraeus was not FORCED to resign, nor did he go to jail for his admitted crimes. He received a suspended sentence for charges which were REDUCED TO "mishandling classified materials."

After we have the actual FBI report, probably next year some time, then we can make an ACTUALLY just comparison.

And you are totally mistaken. There are only three requirements under Article II for the President: 1) Natural born citizen, 2) attained the age of 35 years and been 14 years a resident within the United States.

Only in the instances of impeachment is one barred from Federal Office under Article I, Section 3.

One of the biggest reasons why the numerous allegations against Clinton have NOT swayed enough public opinion, as her anti-club want them to, is BECAUSE they keep exaggerating or even lying about her.

The old story of the boy who cried wolf is as true as ever, about human nature. If you lie about someone, or pursue repeated unsupportable attacks again and again, eventually you can finally find something which really IS true, and have the world ignore you.

The pounding on and on about Benghazi, which even the leader of the Republican attack has now admitted was based on refusal to look at the military facts, spending millions of taxpayers dollars to repeat "investigations" over and over and over, is just one of the ways the Republicans have shot themselves in the foot, the leg, and various other places with opponents.

Attacking Obama in personal ways, which they never found supporting facts to make stick, and blatantly playing local petty political games with the international reputation of the United States as they have done, has actually served to almost immunize the voters into accepting any new accusations as meaningful.

This is why I always try to point, no matter who or what the target of a scandal is, to the actual known FACTS. Most people seem to realize in their personal lives, that playing petty games will backfire on them. Why so many fail to recognize that the larger world is exactly the same way, is a mystery to me.

Remember how Bill Clinton got away with screwing around on his wife, and lying about it to Congress, and actually got solidly reelected after it was all revealed? That was again, the fault of the REPUBLICAN ATTACKERS. Because it was so obvious that they really didn't care what was or wasn't true, eventually the American public decided that they didn't either.

So if you want Hillary to win, keep calling her funny insulting names, and pretending that she purposely murdered all sorts of people, and is going to simultaneously sell the country out to Wall Street, AND turn it communist overnight.

You are HELPING her win with that kind of intentional nonsense.

Why are you guys lobbing this criticism at Igor's post?

He is not supporting Hillary, here. He is saying that over-stating one's case often backfires, and he is right about that.

This is exactly what happened for many of us with BLM, for example. There are a LOT of people out there like me who care about racism and police violence; but understand that honesty and reason are necessary, more fundamental than fighting racism. We were instinctively sympathetic to the black lives matter movement until we learned that its built mostly on lies; so now we criticize BLM. If the BLM people made their case honestly, they would have a LOT more supporters.

I do not like Hillary, do not trust the media, and I have not really investigated many of the claims made against her so I don't have a position on some of the accusations against her...however I have investigated enough to know that some conservatives have really lost their head at times in their eagerness to demonize her (just like BLM protesters are so eager to demonize the police).

I think that in the end, sticking to the facts has the most power to sway the most people; and that's my take on Igor's post. The only thing I see as possibly controversial in Igor's post is: whether or not Benghazi is worth discussing.

If Hillary is even worse than some of us know, eventually we can be convinced by the facts.
