If you meet a date with some wonderful attributes eg attractiveness, intelligence, kindness etc, but neither of you feel inspired to joke and laugh when you are together, does it affect your level of attraction for the person?

In other words, you both smile, engage fully, and converse, but you seldom inspire each other to LAUGH ,how much does that affect your desire to date them?

Is "Laughter chemistry" important to YOU?

Laughter is important in life period. Laughter in a person's life relives stress, gives you happy feelings, and yes is important to laugh in a relationship too.

Hi Pegs! waving

"Laughter chemistry" isn't that important to me. I've had that with my ex. If in my next relationship that chemistry is absent, it won't affect me. Just feed my pussycat well.

..Is "Laughter chemistry" important to YOU?

VERY. Important.
Here is why..when you share humor you also share
a 'kinship' of understanding.

They make you laugh because you 'get' it (them.)
And vice versa.
If it is consistent, you are in the groove with that person.
Nothing better :-)

Yesh, it is very important to me. If we don't share the same sense of humor, the relationship won't go far.

A lack of joking and laughing does not affect my level of attraction for the person.

It depends on what is causing a lack of joking and laughing.

you both smile, engage fully, and converse, but you seldom inspire each other to LAUGH ,how much does that affect your desire to date them?

If I'm smiling then I'm happy.
If I'm engaged fully then I'm interested.
If we're conversing then we're directly communicating.

That would have a far greater influence over my desire to date them than laughter or jokes.

Is "Laughter chemistry" important to YOU?

Not really.

Of course I am assuming my natural inclination, my natural personality that includes laughing and joking isn't being suppressed, isn't being "turned off."
How I would normally laugh and joke with anyone whether or not I'm dating them. That being normal.

If I'm being turned "off" so I feel disinclined/disincentivized to laughing and joking, wanting to avoid laughing and joking, then it wouldn't have anything to do with "laughter chemistry" but something else, and the lack of laughing and joking would be a symptom of something else.

I agree Seakolony. Laughter preserves our sanity sometimes. It would be extra tough to get through those hard times in life with the person without the ability to just laugh at life together whenever possible

As long as your brand of humor doesn't involve a farting machine or a knock-knock joke, I think the future is bright for you my friend flowerforyou

Hi My Peggy. flowerforyou
Nice post.:)
Laughter with friends releases endorphins, the brain's "feel-good" chemicals and can do so much more. It is important to me that i smile from time to time and make others smile too.
I always smile when i SEE you. :)

If laughing isn't that important to you on the whole tom, then I can understand why it may mot be a priority in a relationship. :)
