Everyone is just posting their favorite songs. Sure, taste is a very subjective thing! I try to add songs from different genres (skewed towards pop/indie/hip hop), also songs that are kind of game changers that influenced music trends. I used to watch those shows on VH1, Best songs of all time, Best of the 90's, etc. Ultimately a song becomes great because of it's relevance for its time, popularity, profoundness, influence on pop culture... and here also because what it just means to each of us. Having said that I'll add another that will probably make people roll their eyes. What Makes You Beautiful - One Direction Cheesy? Sure. Trite? Probably. But it is great because it had that great impact pop songs can have: it makes you feel happy and can't help but sing along.
