hundreds of athletes there

do presidents usually send security for all of them, or just one team that makes them all stay together?

They usually send for all. Especially after the Munich fiasco.

lol,, you're funny

yeah, I have an ex captain family member ,, do you have military friends telling you this stuff?

they send for all the security in every olympics held abroad?,,,lol

luckily it wasnt american police,, could have ended up dead for being disobedient and all,,,,

Really? American cops pull their guns out.. order people to the floor then rob them?

they were thieves pretending to be cops.. you know that, right?

Btw, you ( or people in your immediate family) have dialed 911 in the past....who were you calling to come to your aid?... certainly not the police, right?

no, not rob,, kill

they 'allegedly' were thieves pretending to be cops

and yes I have called 911, and I wasnt calling anyone corrupt

I can want crooked people to be held accountable without believing all people are crooked

you can replace 'people' with any group and it would hold true

Wasn't a robbery because its a false story made up by the swimmers...but by all means, keep the oneupsmanship going....it's entertaining

I know its alleged they made it up,, may have been robbed or may not...

certainly left out the part about what 'deviant' things THEY did in their account though

Just an FYI dealing with the OP subject....latest headline:

Rio police indict Lochte, teammate for falsely reporting robbery
http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2016/08/18/rio-police-indict-lochte-teammate-for-falsely-reporting-robbery.html

Always helpful when there is video to corroborate allegations.

Was amusing to see the commentators struggle with the idea that it might be a crime to lie to the police

I have MANY military family and friends including the former head of the White House Military office under Bill Clinton and a Lt. General and of course my father and my Uncle who is a former Army Ranger\Special Forces member. We always had an idea of what he did but didn't really know until many years after he retired and things were de-classified and he could actually talk about some of the things he did.

Just curious.

Now that the rest of the facts are out, and it's clear that this thread was started on falsehoods, is the OP ready to reverse himself, and state that Obama is NOT to blame for these crimes?

Or will he switch to pretending that somehow the Democrats and a cadre of imaginary "liberals" are to blame for drunken brawling and abuses of the host country by our criminally immature athletes?

No I will not reverse. Out athletes should have been protected. I guarantee if they had a detail with them this situation no matter what really happened wouldn't have happened.

Did I say they did? I said they should. I said President Bush did in Salt Lake City.

Okay, well since you have no idea what you are talking about or how the Olympics does and doesn't relate to the US government, I suggest you get in touch with the American Olympics committees, and give them the money required to hire private protection and baby sitters for the athletes.

That's the only way to do what you want, legally.

What a fantastic role model this Lochte is, I mean bragging about your $6k pair of shoes on social media is exactly what the youngsters need in America as role models.

I wish they would have nabbed him before he boarded his flight out... The footage of him screaming "I'm American, I have rights!" while they drag his sorry arse to a Rio prison would have been epic.

I personally know someone who was in Rio for the whole 2 weeks-plus for the Olympics and this is an excerpt from his experiences there....
" would like to thank the people of Rio for treating us incredibly well during our trip. Special thanks to Antonio Carnout and his lovely wife Solange. We stayed at their house during our last four days in town. They made us feel very welcome, fixed us breakfast, conversed with us in English, and helped us find our way around the neighborhood. Just great people. Before we left the American media led us to expect that we were heading to a lawless hellhole overrun with criminals. What we found was a beautiful city with kind helpful people. I would encourage anyone who has the opportunity to travel to Rio to do so. Don't let Ryan Lochte and a bunch of people who have never been there convince you that you shouldn't go."

I too, have heard nothing but bad things about Rio from the beginning. When I learned that my friend was there, I was worried for him. He posted almost every day and the few MINOR issues he had were simply "normal" vacation-traveling issues.
I have ALWAYS said that the media only give us PART of the story most of the time and you have to weed thru it to get to the accurate/real parts.
I trust my Friend had a great experience. happy
