Local mafia bosses have declared war against Muslim immigrants in Sicily as thousands of North African migrants pour on to the Italian island each week.

The mob is trying to maintain control there, but is now facing a new threat from Muslim gangs that come with the immigrants.

And blood is starting to flow in the streets.

Leoluca Orlando, mayor of Palermo, said that his city “is no longer an Italian town. It is no longer European. You can walk in the city and feel like you’re in Istanbul or Beirut.”

The problem is, like so many liberal mayors in America, Orlando doesn’t see this as a problem.

He told the Daily Mail
“In the past, when the Mafia was more powerful, it prevented any immigrants from entering the city. Until I was 30 years old, I never saw an African or Asian in Palermo.

“The Mafia has not understood that the city has changed. We are now a city of immigrants, and the Mafia bosses no longer sit in the mayor’s chair.

“Palermo is a Middle Eastern town in Europe. It is a mosaic city and we are happy about that.”

Mayors like Rahm Emmanuel of Chicago risk making the very same mistake as the mayor of Palermo.

They keep letting Muslim immigrants take over the streets, and at some point, the local population is going to rebel, leading to much bloodshed.

I grew up around the Mafia, many of them lived in the area of N.Y. where we lived. I remember my father running cigarettes for them when he was on strike(Longshoremen)

They ran the loansharking, the numbers, bookie, and other vices and basically never bothered people as long as you didn't interfere with their operations. When they did kill.. they usually killed their own or someone who cut into their operations.

One thing about having them around was there was no crime in the neiborhood. No robberies, car thefts, muggings, or stuff like that.

And they will look at these Muslims as a threat if they try to cut into the Mobs operations and the Mob will kill them.. that is for sure.

Oh no!
Bloodshed in Chicago?!?!!

Maybe that will unite the gangs against a common enemy.

Well, the mob has structure, the bikers took a big hit up here when the gov decided they were a threat, now we have roving Immigrant Haitian gangs running the streets... It's a mess and we want the bikers back, we need a purge of the riff raff and so will they.

If there's going to be an underworld, probably best to be a homegrown underworld? what

All sorts of despotic people offering rescue and refuge in the world.

Some want your soul, some your complicity in their crimes (like the Mafia), some want your allegiance in destroying your friends who don't buy in.

The Nazi's and the Communists kept the streets reasonably crime free. The slave owners protected their slaves from most outsiders.

This is yet another example of why the saying "the enemy of my enemy is my friend," is a bald outrageous lie.

The Mob learned from Chicago and Al Capone. The realized killing civilians was bad for business and is the only reason they went after Al Capone with full force.

It was followed until Gotti got control and since his downfall. Now days, if they kill a civilian they have to answer to the commission and that's usually a death sentence.

You realize our Government has teamed up with the mafia on numerous occasions since the 1930's right?

Your point? And I would take issue with your term "numerous."

You realize that you should offer evidence to support your claim, right?

Just a little shady.. a bit ;)

But really, in certain situations the mob was actually good. Yes, they broke the law, like the stuff that I listed in my earlier post But also with their presence they made for a safe neighborhood.. I know that sounds strange.

For instance, I grew up with a kid who started selling coke, he graduated to selling large amounts of coke. He purchased his 1st home when he was 19.. from coke money. The cops surely knew he was dealing in quantity, but couldn't put a case together. But the mob doesn't need a case put together, they knew from the street what was going on. The Mob does not like drugs in their neighborhoods. One day when he was not home they went to his home, broke the door open and put a bullet in his dogs head. They left a note saying " stop with the coke or your next"

he stopped with the coke

Maybe I read wrong but I thought this was about Sicily not the US. How do topics(non US) end up US

msharmony's photo

it was intertwined with an analogy between how Sicily is handling immigrants compared to the US

It is about another country. That is it but changed to bashing the US. Nothing more. Itis about Sicily. America is not the source of all evil. End of story

I agree, AMerica is not the source of all evil

I disagree the OP was only about Sicily

the OP introduced American politicians handling of immigrants into the mix as well

A repeat of the 6th and 7th centuries but this time the invasion is invited instead of repealed. Those that ignore history are destined to repeat it.
