All depends on the date.

So, How much did that kiss from her cost?
Oh, I dunno, lets see...
$46.00 for dinner that I ate half so...$23.00
$28.00 for tickets to the 3d film...$14.00
$18.00 for theater refreshments...$9.00
$30.00 for taxi service...$15.00
$60.00 for drinks, I had beer and she had mixed...$40.00
$30.00 for gratutities to servers...$30.00
$5.00 for gas
$136
4 hours

That kiss cost me $136.00 and 4 hours.
She made $34 per hour for a kiss.

It's kind of up to yourself. I never paid for a first date (meet & greet). I always offered to pay my share, they always declined.
I would have paid if a guy had been difficult, but that would be the last date he'd ever get out of me. If a man is too cheap to buy me a few cappuccinos, which is all I ever did on a meet & greet, he's not for me.

Things change when you keep seeing each other. Then I'm leaning towards 50-50, depending on what you do and how much you got to spend. There's got to be a balance both are happy with.

I am a bit old fashion ... we meet or greet ... the male pays ...
but I always make sure I have $ on a meet ... just in case they are
saying... they do not want to pay for me... but that does not normally happen just with 1 A**hole ...so far ... and depends on where we go to ...

Why is a guy an a**hole if he wants you to pay your half?

No, It isn't kinda nonsense...It IS nonsense.
When I ask a woman on a date I am completely prepared to afford the things that we decide to do. Or...I wouldn't offer in the first place.

My point is that if you see a date as an expendature of your finaces, you are not ready for the relationship that could happen. You are too focused on the materialisms to dedicate a commitment to another person.

Its not about the cost, it is about the connection.

I figured this would be your point Tom, and I see your point...especially if the kiss or connection was well worth it.

But I wonder if, maybe not you in particular, but if someone would feel differently if the kiss wasn't good...or the connection.

I have heard people, both men and women, say it was a waste of their money. Which is sad in my opinion, because I believe it's more about the connection and even if it didn't happen, you took the chance.

The thing about wisdom is that it is gained by both good and bad experiences.

If you invest your time, money and energy into trying to form a bond with someone and it doesn't work out the way you wanted, you could feel it was a waste or you could look at it as an investment towards wisdom for future relationships.

I wonder why people go on first dates to expensive noisy restaurants, movies, theaters and such places. What's good about them?

Why not just go for a walk, to nature, to picnics, to the beach? And no worries about bills and who's paying.

But yes, if a man calls me on first date to an expensive restaurant, then he also pays the bill. When it comes to person with whom I'm already sharing my life, then I want to share expenses also.

 Exactly, I feel the same way. I love nature and going for walks. They recommend public places for first dates, so a public park or beach would be just fine. And I feel the same way about who pays if a man asks me out. Once we are sharing a life together, we share expenses.
