 I just say what's in my head, rather than copy from the Internet. You get a better view of people's opinions I think. |

Why do guys copy and paste messages on this site so much? If it's the latter, I have no idea why they'd copy and paste something. But in here, quoting a particular part of a previous post helps mark what (if not who) the person replying is responding to. |

My theory is either laziness, or lack of imagination. Either way, once they click send, they have shot themself in the foot. true

Personally, cutting and pasting is easy. And 9 times out of 10, your talking to someone that's not that interesting. But if someone has a real opinion...I'm down for fresh conversations.

Personally, cutting and pasting is easy. And 9 times out of 10, your talking to someone that's not that interesting. But if someone has a real opinion...I'm down for fresh conversations. I've got more than one and answered one! Told him why he copy and pasted!

I've got more than one and answered one! Told him why he copy and pasted! I asked a guy once why he copy and pasted, he basically said the same thing as Rob said. He told me I didn't answer the first time, so he figured he's just cut an paste the same message and maybe one day I would finally respond to him. It was actually kind of sweet in a way. I prefer that they send a different message, but I can understand why they do the cut and paste thing. It takes a lot of time to write out 10, 20, or more messages, and if only one or none respond, it would be really frustrating. Maybe in the beginning they did write out the message, and after not getting good results decided to do it the easier way. |

Do you mean quoting a previous post in replies here on the forum, or are you talking about private messages to other members? Private messages! I don't keep up with these forums!!! Actually, "casting a wide net" is too nice a term for it, since I think it's kinda lazy. If somebody can't take the time to individualize a message to someone, based on something the person that they're addressing said in their profile, or something in the other member's photo(s), then they're just spraying Cheez Whiz into the wind*. *I think that's a legal term. I once heard a lawyer use the expression on Law and Order. ("Atonement," Season 6, Episode 18 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0629164/quotes Quote at the bottom.) |
