Thinking... how is it that so many Americans don't speak English?
I'm watching clips/news on Florida after Irma, and many can't speak English? How can you live in a country and not speak its language? I guess that means they function in a society within a society that speaks their language?
I mean, they couldn't even go to a shop or hospital or whatever without help?
I always thought America was much stricter with its immigration rules, learning English was mandatory.

I'm thinking pretty much the same thing. It's pretty bad when in some places down here in South Florida you can't get a job unless you speak a foreign language.

it's also an indication of just how big a percentage of immigrants are illegal

It's getting the same in the UK with eastern Europeans, namely ex soviet block countries. Problem is that they have no morals and life is cheap!
Hopefully when we get out of European rule we can slow it down!

I'm thinking that I think I overthink..
Part of me says do what's best for me..
Be selfish.. live your life.. but that looks bleak and empty... so be with her.. but that is so selfish also .. it's true what they say you can't have your ice cream and cake as well
.fml

Being interested in military history and travelled throughout Europe in the museum's and memorials the have lots of literature on every topic. On the cover they'll have the language it covers i.e.. French,German and English. The past couple of years I'd noticed that they have included American! Not a problem with it but it seemed strange when I first saw it!

That reminds me of manuals... those used to be in the main lingos, English, German, French, sometimes Dutch.
These days it's starts with Polish, Turkish, lord-knows-what-other-Eastern-European lingo that I do not understand, Chinese, and with a bit of luck you find pigeon English which I do not understand either, lol.
You got that in the UK as well??

When I got my printer a few months back, it had a manual for dummies with pictures and 1 line of text per picture. Clearly I'm not a dummy, cos I couldn't work it out. Meaning I still don't know what half the buttons on my printer do?
And it was a Canon, so not some silly brand.

Yes, I have been thinking about that too... But then isn't it odd they come across them and don't do anything about it? (Maybe they do, not sure)
But I always thought the USA was quite strict with this sort of stuff. I guess not nearly as much as Australia...

Hahahaha
Me thinks you're just trying to find a way to rid the Americas of dummies! Would that be the scam? Buy a printer, get a Walmart dumbo with it to install it, haha.

they are fairly strict about learning the lingo if you come in the front door.

however they are not strict about enforcing use
