Age gap is not an issue for me... a woman from the age of 40 who can care and take care of situations would be very inspiring for a man like me who is principled with always doing the right thing.

Some people can handle a larger age gap than that.. but, for me, late 40's to around my age would be where I am comfortable. I get a lot of very young gals in their mid 20's looking at my profile. Sorry... to young.
Have a great day.

It's not about the age.
It's aboit being compatible and being able to understand each other.
OP you talk about taking care and taking care of situations.
That's quite vague.
Depending on the meaning of that it can be something a potential mate might work with or it could be the deal breaker.

I've dated someone 8 years younger. Someone 15 years older.
In eitger situation, the age didn't stop us from finding things in common.

If two people connect well with a big age difference then its fine as long as it is genuine interest.

That is true, except for this weirdo!!!

I want a gal within 2 years of me...It makes the relationship more relatable. I went on a date with a gal at least 10 years younger and the relatablity gap was massive....
She asked..Do you like Whizz Kalifa??
I said no thanks, I already went to the bathroom.

Hey what's your view on the Kennedy Assasinations??

I've never heard of that band!!!
CHECK PLEASE....

Of course I kidd...it wasn't exactly like that..but the relatablity factor was out the window. Some people think...thats ok, we will fix it in the bed!!!! But for me, if you don't put me in Checkmate....you won't be getting me in Bed mate!!! Did you...ahhh see what I did there??? Hee hee!

I was recently with an awsome lady, the age diff was 2 years...we were LDR...But it was awsome..so relatable, we were cracking each other up, she knew about every current event and I knew about things that were going on in her country economically. We were even watching the same shows on YouTube!!

What happened?? Let's just file that under, "To be continued possibly one day!" Oh man, I sure hope so!!!

So yes Virginia, there is a Santa Clause!! You just gotta take the time and effort. Don't be afraid to ask...Yea, here's my birthday, let's see yours!!!

Oh Rob, I sure hope so too. I miss my dear friend and I hope she comes back.

Hugs for the two of you. May you both wake up one day and say "I need her/him in my life no matter what."

I've mentioned this before--it was hard to start a relationship with someone who was too young to remember "When Maz hit the big one" out of Forbes Field, Oct. 13th 1960.

Generally older woman carry a richer conversation. My opinion only. They have more maturity and life experiencd to reflect on. Can be wonderful.

The woman I met here on Mingle was 19 years younger than me. I wasn't even considering her because of her age. But then she became so frustrated by the age block I had on my account that she made sure to get my attention here in the forums without actually mentioning who I was. We had a long distance relationship for over 2 years, with her going above and beyond in more ways than I can count off the top of my head.

But....it ended a couple years ago. It was my fault. Due to circumstances unrelated to her, I lapsed into a depressive episode. I began drifting out of contact. I had convinced myself that I was protecting her. I didn't want her to worry. Nor did I want her to put her life on hold over something I had no idea how long it would take me to work out. I have been kicking myself over that ever since. In fact, I openly admit that she was the best thing ever to happen to me thus far. And yes, I miss her....still.

Point is, age doesn't have to be an obstacle if you find the right person. In my case, I was the one chased down. I was about to hook up with a woman only 7 years younger than me. That's what spurred my ex's last ditch effort to get my attention. We had a long conversation that lasted two days. I even remember the date we started on. She blew me away during that conversation. To this day, she still knows that I believe in her even when nobody else seems to. We got in touch awhile back to bring some closure to the matter. I told her everything about what happened. If I could have her back, I wouldn't make the same mistakes as before. But that's in the past. Time to move on because that's what she wants. I respect that, more so because of everything I told her about my own situation.

Now I'm 30 pounds heavier than I was, and the sides of my head have turned grey. But when I'm in the city or riding the bus, I still get long looks from women I would call girls because of how young they are. It has happened so often that it began to make me uncomfortable. I had to talk to my therapist about it. I mean, these girls are younger than my ex is now....and she's still in her 20s. She was an exception to my rule. I doubt I will find anyone her age that can impress me like she did. Granted, the attention is flattering, but only to a certain point. After awhile it becomes creepy.

So there are many young women out there who are interested in older men. The question is whether two people of such a wide age gap can really have a relationship of substance. Typically speaking, most young women aren't looking for that from an older man. Just like most younger men chasing 'cougars' aren't. Sure, maybe some are, but most are looking for something more fleeting. And that knowledge is what has made such attention so uncomfortable for me. It's not what I'm looking for.

I prefer older men.. but unfortunately due to looking younger than my age (29 yrs old) I find myself closing the gap I would want to date. It's quite annoying!

I like the wisdom and knowledge of an older man. The security, stability and assurance they tend to have. But life has taught me you can't always get what you want.

LaydeeD...I'm older than God, know a little of what is right and obviously a lot of what's wrong...
Women, they have been writing and talking about them since the garden of Eden
I've had four wives and they got progressively younger, but not obscenely so.
People are strange creatures.....fear and confusion....get rid of the confusion get rid of the fear....
Good luck with it...you look like a nice lady....
