I am not defending my mindset any more or less than anyone here. And why is that a bad thing? Is there a negative mindset causing you to dispel the reality of someone feeling offended?

Id say, it is off balance to only expect or aknowledge positive or to always take anything negative and attempt to turn it into a positive.

Sorry but that is all I am going to read.
You obviously can't comprehend my reasoning so any further correspondence on this is moot. Try to have a nice day citizen.

you can spin it anyway you like.. as you always do.. so predictable ;)

Fact is.. you asked who brought in the word.. slave.. and fact is.. you did.. and you have in posts after this.

You are bent on it. you are re-living the past.. every chance you get.

It is your crutch as well.. "poor me".. Lol.

Ya know.. getting outside.. away from the computer.. is actually a healthy thing. Webbing every chance you get is not... reality. Ya don't get a boutique of roses after 60,000 posts.... sorry

Your " audience"... is cyber... not exactly the real thing.

But that's just my opinion.. right..;)

But deep down.. you know it to be true

aww... tunnelvision affecting reality again?

actually the OP mentioned slave in the VERY FIRST Post.

On Thursday, Facebook user Daniell Rider posted a photo to Hobby Lobby’s Facebook page, of a vase of cotton flowers displayed in a Texas store. She captioned it, “This decor is WRONG on SO many levels. There is nothing decorative about raw cotton… A commodity which was gained at the expense of African-American slaves. A little sensitivity goes a long way. PLEASE REMOVE THIS ‘décor.’”

Im bent on discussing what is there IN THE OP or the posts to which I respond.

perhaps others are BENT on singling me out amongst everyone else who ever says something about anything perceived as 'negative' or amongst everyone else who posts the same theme of negative attack diatribes over and over in these threads?

I am not reliving any past except the few moments in which I read a point and respond to it.

I have never said, 'poor me' either.

IF I were to say, 'poor me' I would allow those who try emotional manipulation to convince me that my opinions or disagreements should remain silent.

Not gonna happen though. You are bent on what 'audience' I have. I am not. I may have used that word once or twice and you keep returning to it.. I wonder why?

I know its healthy to get outside. That has nothing to do with the rest of the garbage characterizations about me though....

I continue living my life when I leave here, I rarely remember or keep notes on what other people have said or had opinions on , I have never whined or complained to moderators about other grown ups (some of the same grown ups who say people should 'get over' stuff or grow big person pants while running to whine about what some other grown ups opinion was)

I have not participated in personally attacking other minglers in their mail

and I am surrounded in my real life by plenty of love with no need for validation outside or to appease or fit in when I feel someone or something is wrong.

I would say, I very much agree with life beyond obsessing on others opinions.

and still,

Opinions are all minglers can really contribute, arent they?

I'm confused on how it's offensive. People bring flowers, plants and even sticks in for decorations all the time. It's not like a swastika or confederate flag was put on it. It actually fits with a rustic look and could look very nice.

So, would it be the same for Christians to be offended by a crucifix?
Or a jew coming to your home and being offended because you have a gas cooker?

african americans were slaves, slaves were forced to pick cotton from cotton stalks

cotton is decorative, unless you are a slave being tortured into picking it for someone elses benefit, or a descendant of the same,,,then it just may feel like an OFFENSIVE stereotype

like being white, invited to a black persons house for dinner, and having dolls in white sheets on the table

kkk were not the ONLY ones to wear white sheets, of course, but the association specifically with white guests, may feel like more than just a coincidental 'decoration'

christians to this day attend churches with crucifixes and wear them, but not too many blacks are wearing or worshipping in front of cotton stalks,, so that wouldnt be the same

a gas cooker would probably not have been just there for the benefit of certain guests on a certain day,, to that wouldnt be the same either

IT WAS JUST A DECORATION! I am sure none of these students were slaves or picked cotton.

It is not like Jews being invited to dinner with swastikas there. Come on! If they are that offended, They better not wear or use cotton

Sometimes progress is just a bit to slow, now if you Americans had of got a wiggle on in the first place and invented nylon before cotton then things would be fine. !
I'm guessing some expert will say slavery was used in that to slaphead

Blacks WERE(200-150years ago) slaves, slaves WERE(200-150years ago) forced to pick cotton from cotton stalks

cotton is decorative (AND A PLANT), unless you WERE(200-150years ago...not a black person alive today has picked any cotton) a slave(200-150years ago) being tortured(NOT EVERY COTTON PICKER WAS TORTURED) into picking it for someone elses benefit, or a descendant of the same,,,then it just may feel like an OFFENSIVE stereotype

I guess when you let your "FEELINGS" take control with out any facts, people can come up with the dumbest things...

Ok so these ❄ want to be offended. What if the person, who made it was offended? Pr the home owner trying to have a noce dinner? I saw nothing about it beinng intentional. I guess the guests only have the right to be offended? NOPE

I am offended that they posted it on social media. Where is MY play doh!grumble

my biggest question to that is "why do they think anyone should care at what offends them?"... i certainly don't care what offends anyone...
