When are thy going to cancel the Ratings challenged Emmy show. Bunch of self important blowhards slapping each other on the back for showing their most disgusting and true selfs. Their ratings tied this year for the worst ratings ever and that was last year. Does anybody really give a damn what a unfunny no talent clown like Stephen Colbert has to say about anything. He sucks ! Most all of them do. With all the hate they have for him they sure do spend a lot of their time thinking about him. He has more TV time than most of them put together so maybe he should have won one of those Emmy awards. What a miserable life it must be to be obsessed with someone to the point that you spend most of your waking moments thinking of how to hurt someone, what a waste.

Award shows should be based on movies and tv. Using it as a platform for a political agenda....no thanks....regardless of who os president

Don't watch.
Exactly....why give credence to a bunch of people who are so self absorbed that they need constant approval and attention to function at all.
"Hey, look at me, I can sing, I can dance, I can act! PLEASE show me the love and approval I've been missing all my life! Nobody likes me unless you clap for me!"

If I might respectfully disagree here without being character assassinated for daring to disagree, or
characterized as 'always' something or another or needing to 'win' something ...

IN MY OPINION-

Actors and entertainers have a job, like any other people in a job, they have events for recognition of achievements, as they should.

Actors and entertainers have a unique privilege and responsibility due to how many people they reach and how many people watch them and they are US Citizens. In this, I am fine with them using that special position to do more than gloat about themselves but to speak to events of the world.

I doubt the emmys will be cancelled because of people not approving anymore than presidential innaugurations or any other 'recognition' based televised events. At most, it will be re thought and 'modernized' to compete with other television shows.

so I guess you would have been alright with the CMT awards to have called Obama a racist , thug, crackhead, or other names I won't use here. Which they didn't. To much class I guess.

Drama. Passive/aggressive

The award shows are about winning. Not for pampered divas being political
