Topic: You won the lottery! | |
---|---|
I buy lottery tickets and if I won big the first thing I would do is not tell anyone. I'd quietly tell my close family and share it with them first Then with people who had treated me well. Then I would move to where no one knew me. Good Plan! ![]() Iām with you Aussieguy! No, seriously...take me with you! ![]() |
|
|
|
(Hypothetically) After the party phase is over, what would you do with your days? ![]() Give £750,000 each to my daughters so they can finally move out of the family home, then put my feet up ![]() |

Hey, If we're dreaming, why not dream big?
We can start with 500 Trillion dollars. First I would take care of my loved ones. Then I would hire the best doctors to restore my health to its best possible condition. Wouldn't really party. I would hire a security force and travel the country anonymously. Would do things to help random people cope. Like: Go into grocery stores and prepay the store so that day, all sales were covered. Go into utility companies and pay down outstanding family unit bills to a zero balance. Construct housing for city homeless. Fund free clinics for health care. Pay down low income student debt. Set up grants for low income trade schools. Open a national recycling center. Have community greenhouses constructed. Plant fruit trees and berry bushes on city land. Hire people to tear down and cleanup abandoned buildings and factories. Provide a tax rescue fund for middle income families. Expand and support the Habitat for Humanity program to include community projects like parks and recreational facilities. Become a supporting sponsor at zoos, libraries and museums. Open a life services national program to teach people basic living. Build a high speed, seaboard to seaboard, transportation corridor with expansion allocations, including mag-lev abilities. Line the highways in rural areas with a network of solar electric panels. Construct higher capacity shelters in disaster prone communities. Buy my own broadcasting network. Then, with the remaining 498 Trillion dollars I would start doing the same for other countries. Working towards making the 3rd world status a thing of the past. |

Maybe you should reconsider buying tickets after all.

Partying??? I think I'd skip that altogether, lol.
- I think I'd first buy myself another car. - Get the therapy that would likely cure my chronic ailments which I now cannot pay for. - Go to Scotland, the Magickal Journey that I now cannot afford that will take me to all this power places. I'd add Culloden to that, as I really want to go there. - Back home, buy myself a house somewhere, not sure where, so first I'd have to find a nice area where I want to live. - Put money aside for retirement - Rent in people to set up my company online with all the to-do. Once that's out of my hair, I can focus on the training session I want to do and start doing them. Get some proper advertising going for them so I start making money, the idea being to invest to keep it going. - Go to my fave crystal shop and buy the crystals I so want! - get the oracle & tarot decks in that are on my bucket list (about 10). - a proper camera to both take good piccies with AND video clips for my YouTube channel and training sessions - buy new clothes and shoes. - Finally get another settee!! And dining room chairs. - New PC, monitor & laptop. When all that is done, bought, and sussed, I think it's time to do some traveling. The online webinars & training sessions I can do from anywhere in the world. Matter of taking my brand-new laptop with me and Bob's your uncle. New Orleans, Mt Shasta, and I want to see Uluru again. |

hmmm...lets see, right now - sometimes i feel altruistic and give to family, charities, homeless, etc; sometimes i feel selfish and spoil me big time with very little consideration of need vs want; sometimes i spend on a whim; i throw up my hands (Yayyyy!!) when the rhythm of life goes up and i hold on tightly (ahhh nutbutter!!) when the darn thing starts the down swing ; at the end of the day, i say "what a ride!"
if i win the lotto - when i feel altruistic i would give to family, charities, homeless, etc; when i feel selfish i would spoil me big time with very little consideration of need vs want; i would definitely spend on a whim; i would throw up my hands (Yayyyy!!) when the rhythm of my life goes up and i hold on tightly (ahhh chitzoo!!) when the darn thing starts the down swing ; at the end of the day, i would say "what a ride!" Now where's the nearest lotto store?... |

Y'know, In a way, I've already won a lottery.
I'm now a few years past my forecasted expiration date. I can't spend the money I get and I have all the material things I need. I'm threadbare in the romantic love department and for that, you don't use money (you can, but you get what you pay for). On a humorous take: "I checked Craigslist for a new girlfriend but the only ones in my price range were old beaters." ![]() ![]() |

Go for it! not sure i follow what you are asking of me...to me, it is all a matter of scale...for example, i travel a bit...before lotto, i book econ coach class and moderate accommodations...after lotto, i book first class and hotel suites...i am still spoiling myself in both instances...just a matter of scale...Charities and family , etc get four or more digit giving instead of two or three... if you want big scale whim...buy an island and a yacht...buy a ticket to travel to the moon and back (they do have those, you know)... my scale is in synch with my means...nothing more, nothing less... |

If I won a big enough lottery to retire early, I would want to spend my days doing something volunteering with children. This is nice. I would do the same. |
