Subliminal stimuli, contrary to supraliminal stimuli or "above threshold", are any sensory stimuli below an individual's threshold for conscious perception.

When I was in high school I was interested in advertising graphic art. In the earlier days, subliminal influences were one frame images used to entice people to by the product. Inserted randomly in a film.

Images had picture within a picture to do pretty much the same thing.

In today's world subliminal influence takes a more subtle approach. Product placement is used in films and shows, to sell products.
However, subliminal influences are used to promote ideas and agendas besides for the sake of making people want to buy a product.
From TV shows to movies to the nightly NEWS people are being led by media over-exposure.

Society gets 'directed' in many ways that are subliminal and supraliminal.
People are being told what to wear, eat, drink, buy, how to treat friends, treat enemies, be part of society and a whole slew of other things that create the sheeple mentality.

People only notice a small fraction of the influences they are being bombarded with on a constant basis. The attitude trends of society are being manipulated constantly.

It happens so much that it is hard to see it unless you unplug and shut off the 'feed' for awhile.
I don't watch TV. I am not exposed to commercials on TV and radio. Its been decades since I stepped away from the boob tube.
When I do happen to see TV playing, the agendas are clear to me because I have been away from it. I notice subtle things others seem to just absorb.

There is a trend right now in TV shows and movies that promotes mixed race couples and LBGT acceptance.
News shows promote the power elite's agendas. News is not so much an accounting of things that happen as much as it is a barrage of opinions and authoritative views.

The subliminal and supraliminal influences are staggering. People are addicted to it all. Ask someone to step away from media for a year and they will get angry at the idea. Those that can do it, will come back after a year to find just how manipulated people really are. The longer they are isolated the more 'awake' they become.

Most TV shows and movies have the same ole, same ole subliminal architecture.
Falls in love but doesn't but might.
Dies but doesn't but might.
Bad then good then bad again.
Good then bad then good again.
Forgive when they shouldn't, don't forgive when they should.
Political disgust. Political support.
Conspiracies, government cover-ups.
Miracle 'save the day' moments.
Its amazing what you notice when you have been away from it for an extended period of time.

Even documentaries are a farce. Most science based documentaries ask more questions than provide answers.

There are too many benefits for walking away from it all.
Not only is stress reduced because conflict is minimized you actually learn to live in the world that is around you. You think about things that pertain to you and the ones you love instead of some distant thing that never actually affects your experiences. You take the power back to have authority on your own perceptions instead of someone you have never met and likely will never meet.
