Hello my Mingle2 family, well I'm back with a brand spankin' new topic that I think people have many opin9ions & facts about. Mingle, let me ask you this? Have you ever been in a situation where you been arrested & handcuff? Maybe you was token to jail for minor offenses like jay-walking, public urination, drinking outside, or just simple as littering? You was held in jail on bail and you may or may not be able to make bail. Maybe a loved one or you know somebody that ben thru the process of bail siting in jail and not able to make the payment. In my state of Pennsylvania we have social organizations meeting with the lawmakers to " End Cash Bail!" Now think about we not talking violent offenses or murder cases or pedophile cases. But minor offenses. So my "Vocal Avengers " lets talk about it, do you think your state should end cash bail out or should it at least be tweeted with conditions? So lets get right down to business, can't wait to hear from you all.

I think common sense should prevail. If people have jobs, that is their best way to pay bail, if they are in jail, they lose their job, they cant pay bail. I think for non violent offenses, each case should be taken based on the person's circumstances and the best way for them to have the ABILITY to make bail.

Well ending cash bail I'm sort of a supporter I don't think a person with minor offenses with conditions should spend months or years in prison or jail just because they can't make bail. I'm not talking the murder, pedophiles, The rapist, the thieves to be let out but its a fine line between pissing in a dark alley and something serious should be considered release again only with conditions. Could you image sitting in jail because of jay-walking or drinking a Bud Ice in the park, now is that fair?

Ms Harmony,

Yes you absolutely right, it's a mixed thought about ending cash bail. My state of Pennsylvania & Maryland I think are 2 states on the east coast so far talks of ending cash bail

I agree with the second poster Meme

If you cant do the time dont do the crime, its pretty simple. Its like those that complain about the high interest rate on credit cards, here is a simple solution, pay off your balance every month and dont live on your credit cards.

Law abiding citizens knows what the laws are whether minor or major or as you Americans say Felony and Misdemeanor

Public Urination is a problem, being drunk outside is also a problem, jay walking , well there are too many stupid people getting hit and insurance is raking the drivers through the roof.

Littering well, take a trip to Bombay or New Delhi and see what happens when people litter and its not pick up and what follows next? rat infestation

Every thing happens for reason, I say getting rid of Cash bail isnt a problem, how about try and be a good citizen.

For non violent offenses people with jobs should pay bail. I f a person is unemployed they should have to do. Community service hours ordered by the court and be put on probation.

Some States are racking up big bucks by putting offenders in county jails.
Often times people or their friends or family can't afford to pay to their bail and the person has to stay in jail.

Many county jails are over crowded. Revision is long over due.

it's just dumb to post bail on minor offenses..in a day or two, you go to court, plead guilty, they send you home with time served...no probation, no fines, just a minor offence on your record...the court's want you to pay bail, so they get you with the fines and probation, not to mention a court date months away... None of that happens if you just sit it out...

I'm not low income or poor...I'll use the system like it uses people who don't know any better...tit for tat, right?

Diserti_Gears,

Hey , welcome to my cyber mansion, well you also have a point but cash bail in some cases are geared towards poor & low income people. see people with white collar careers or money don't seem to have a problem making bail. if you living check to check, kids to raise, a spouse to keep happy, and you get slapped with a minor offense than high bail system. to me its not fair.

EyeAmYourHost39,

America, make no mistakes, crime is a bad thing. if you consciously get a offense then you need to do the time. If you sitting in jail for an offense that's non violent, non sexual, non thievery, then the laws need to be change just to ease the burden of over crowded jails.

you guys are confused..they do not want poor people on probation...they want MONEY, not to send people to jail...it costs them money when people are in their overcrowded jails..they actually look for people who can pay the fines, who can afford probation, and who are scared enough to pay the fines, probation costs, drug and achohol tests, the courses they make you take...POOR PEOPLE CANT PAY...is it to their benefit to not send poor people to county lock up for a few days...haven't you ever wondered why they don't arrest the bums you see everywhere? Because there's no value in arresting them..it costs the court's more money than its worth...

my point was to avoid those minor offenses in the first place, especially if you have a family, wife or low income.
