Just finished watching "The Truth seekers" an eight part supernatural comedy starring Nick Frost, amongst others. The series is about a broadband installer and paranormal investigator played by Frost and revolves around a Medieval Grimoire that teaches transmigration of souls into objects, other people and even different planes of existence. Difficult to catagorise, except to say that it's very entertaining. Malcolm McDowell is particularly good, while Frost delivers an effortless performance as usual.

Nice! I will definitely check that out once I've finished the series I'm currently watching :)

Don't like these types of films much anymore. But here's some I did enjoy in the past though. But you'll need subtitles for all of them

Old boy - the original Korean film, not the rubbish remake

Battle Royale and sequel - Japanese film that the hunger games rips off

Zatoichi - again, Japanese. There's a few of these films that are quite old. But I've only seen the 2003 version, which I believe is a remake of 1 of the old ones

You ever see 'Return to Eden'? Best show ever and I just finished
watching the sequel (22 episodes of the Australian mini-series)
that fleshed out the ending.

Oh my gosh, that takes me back many years. I remember watching that many many years ago; possibly the 80s. Loved it and watched it religiously bigsmile

Thank you.
Somehow I can never stomach Korean or Japanese etc. movies. But maybe someone else will. It's becoming a nice action & thriller movie/series library, hihi.

The Snow Walker - 2004
All I can say is, wow...
What a great movie!

In 1952, a routine flight over the Canadian Arctic runs into trouble, leaving macho pilot Charlie stranded in the wilderness with his only passenger, an ill Inuit woman. He needs her as much as she is relying on him, as she has the local knowledge will allow them to survive.

Just watched The Edge - 1997 with Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin.
Another wildlife - lost in the wilderness movie, and it was absolutely great!
The bear in it is a real bear, wowza!

I don't think I'd ever seen it, although I could've forgotten after 23 yrs. I loved it!

After the Sunset - 2004
Pierce Brosnan and Salma Hayek and Woody Harrelson.
I liked it.

Two retired jewel thieves and FBI Agent Stan play a game of cat-and-mouse. Stan wants to ensure that they are really retired as he is convinced that they have another robbery plan up their sleeves.

Believe it or not, but I am watching North and South!
It's been ages since I've seen that when it was first aired, go figure. It once helped me pass an exam on American culture that happened to focus mainly on this period :)
Good series to watch.

Well, if you ever want to watch North and South again you best forego the last season. Utter crap. I clicked through it a bit after I noticed what they'd done was seriously stupid, then decided to just switched it off. Bad in capitals and ruins the good feeling you got from the first 2 seasons.

The Crazies - 2010
With Timothy Elephant.

I'd never heard of the movie. I like it. About a local outbreak of a virus that was engineered and being transported on a plane. The plane crashed near the village.

The series Away - 2020, about going to Mars. Netflix.
I really like it but it was cancelled after 1 season. Why the hell they always do that with good things is beyond me.

I know, I deliberated said elephant as in Dutch elephant is 'olifant'. I think his surname comes from his Dutch ancestry.
And funny enough he does have a bit of a weird upperlip. It sticks out a little. Not entirely like the elephant's 'lip' on the end of its trunk of course but still. It always reminds me of a Simpson character.

OT - Even though Away is only one season, it is very much worth watching! This season is about them making it to Mars, or not, and all the trials and tribulations they go through along the way. Malfunctions but also interrelational issues.

Into the Night - 2020 Netflix
Another series that seems very promising so far. I didn't check if it got renewed. For now simply enjoying it.
About the sun scorching Earth so everyone having to go in hiding, into the night, stay out of the sun. Bunch of passengers on a plane trying to escape sunrise.
