“They haven't seen anything like what's coming at us in 25, 30 years, maybe ever. It's tremendously big and tremendously wet, tremendous amounts of water,” Trump said, before an apparent reference to Hurricane Harvey's toll on the Houston area last year. “It could very well be very similar to Texas in the sense that it's tremendous amounts of water ... probably more water than we've ever seen in a storm or a hurricane.”

"I think Puerto Rico was incredibly successful. Puerto Rico was actually our toughest one of all because it is an island," he said. "I actually think it is one of the best jobs that's ever been done with respect to what this is all about."

no, its not a third grade student speaking it is the POTUS.

Trump advanced a new conspiracy theory on Thursday morning: blaming Democrats, without evidence, for the staggering death toll from Hurricane Maria, which slammed into Puerto Rico one year ago.

“3000 people did not die in the two hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico,” Trump tweeted. “When I left the Island, AFTER the storm had hit, they had anywhere from 6 to 18 deaths. As time went by it did not go up by much. Then, a long time later, they started to report really large numbers, like 3000.”

poor soul ... I think when you live a life of lying and/or exaggerating to make yourself look good and others look bad, you project that behavior onto others when you become the 'other' and the natural instinct is to believe others, likewise, are exaggerating or lying to make you look bad.

What happened to that 'failure is a good way to learn' philosophy his daughter said he taught them?

Trump pushes conspiracy theory about Puerto Rico death toll

"Without providing evidence, the president claims Democrats are trying to make him look 'bad' by inflating the numbers".

Democrats don't have to "try" to make this guy "look" bad. He does it all on his own without any help.

"The official Hurricane Maria death toll per the Puerto Rican government is 2,975, revised up in August from the initial 64. That number, calculated by researchers with the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University, is lower than a Harvard study released in May, which put the number at 4,645. Either number would make Maria, which hit last September, the deadliest natural disaster in the United States in over a century." I think I'm going to go with either one of the two SCIENTIFIC, peer-reviewed, independent studies on this one. They have a tad more credibility than TRUMP.

Puerto Rico death toll isn’t Trump’s only conspiracy theory

The Puerto Rico death toll. Special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe. The 2016 presidential election vote. Hillary Clinton and her emails.

President Donald Trump speaks and tweets often about conspiracies against him. That’s not to say they exist as he describes them.

A look at some of those issues:

They are inflating numbers. If you drive off a cliff 3 days after a hurricane, it's not the hurricanes fault. It means you're an idiot.

I know what you all mean ..when you talk about Trump's lies and praise that TRAITOR Obama..who by the way also lies..And the DEMS and LIBS want Trump impeached for having sex with a skank prostitute years before he was the president... ..or charge him with obstruction of justice ..as if the FISA investigation was any kind of justice in the first place..so that would be what "obstruction of injustice"..or "defiance in the face of a coup"..the latter sure gives pause for thought..now don't it..smokin

WWG1 WGA

That statement says alot. I'm quite certain that the left has very low sales resistance.(Or most of them had bought Amway dealerships)

In my book, if you say something, you'd better be ready to back it up by acting on it. I've watched dems for years claim that they will give us the sun, moon, and the stars. And produce none of it. On the other hand, at least republicans have produced some of what they speak of.

Lets see, about a .300 average Vs. .000 for the century. I choose to go with the .300, rather than the obama cult. Your sales pitch is falling on deaf ears here.

(Reminds me wanting to buy some Amway product- but nobody knew how to sell me JUST product)

His home state can't stand him. Now it seems he is doing the same with Puerto Rico. When it comes election time if Trump hasn't come up with a way to smooth this over, Well it may hurt the Republicans in the midterms even more. Even more, than they already are.

It seems he really likes dividing people even more than what they already are too. Alienate and separate.

I don't know why consistency is such a hard goal to achieve in politics.

people use government sources when it makes their candidate look good, but dismiss them as unreliable or fake if it doesnt

people use a standard that is applied consistently to count something, to boost their candidate, but then dismiss it as unreliable or not dependable if it doesn't.

Outrage as Trump Lies About Hurricane Maria Death Toll, Claiming It Was Concocted by Democrats.

Another open mouth and insert foot. He makes himself sound like an ignorant azz hole. No tact at all. There is no telling how many bodies were under rubble and water. For weeks after the storm. No telling how many died because of neglect. Many needed medical attention and couldn't get it.

"President Donald Trump falsely claimed on Thursday morning that the death toll from Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico last year was not the officially reported number of 2,975.

“3000 people did not die in the two hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico,” he said, without basis. “When I left the Island, AFTER the storm had hit, they had anywhere from 6 to 18 deaths. As time went by it did not go up by much. Then, a long time later, they started to report really large numbers, like 3000.”

Twelve minutes later, the president added, “This was done by the Democrats in order to make me look as bad as possible when I was successfully raising Billions of Dollars to help rebuild Puerto Rico. If a person died for any reason, like old age, just add them onto the list. Bad politics. I love Puerto Rico!"

Let me say it again. Also if you weigh 300lbs and had to do a little walking that caused you to die, it wasn't the hurricane. It was all the donuts.

The >Local Authorities of PR goofed, not the Feds, and guess what political side they belong to?
They pulled the very same stunt in NOLA after Hurricane Katrina.
Seems the Democrats always lose their heads in an Emergency, especially when there is a Republican Administration in the WH!
Almost want to look as if they didn't give a damn about the People,if they can badmouth the Republicans, happened in NOLA,happening in Puerto Rico!

It's amazing people are jealous of Trump but want to critique every move he makes. What's even more amazing is they think Trump controls the weather. Since it was a cat 1, can libs stop complaining?

if libs or conservs 'stopped complaining' there would be no political forums of debate.
