I think a real man or woman reads all this nonsense posted here, has a good laugh and logs off to surf something else.

Funny how men are commenting ~ mansplaining what they THINK women want.

isn't it sad?
I almost posted something on that before, but decided to delete it.
But it seems most men project their own bad experience onto women in general. On top of that, they themselves have huge list of demands of what we should be and look like.
- must watch sports on tv with them
- must actively sport several times a week
- have to be slender
- have to be sexy
- must drink beer and/or wine (wtf for I don't know? I don't like either)
- must mostly wear dresses/skirts & heels
- must have a job/money
- must be okay with him waking you up at night (90% ask that?!?!)
- and so on and so forth...

In other words, we cannot be, do, dress, eat & drink what we want... slaphead

All of these things a woman gets asked a gazillion times, not just once or twice.

They can want what they want...and..that's OK...
WE want what *we* want..and we're "picky bit**s" or it's "good luck with finding that...go be with your cats.."

Agreed. And the main difference is that what most women want is QUALITY.
What most men seem to want (=demand) is looks, and her having money/job so they do not have to provide & protect. Makes me feel they only want what they consider pleasant (= arm candy & sex), not the rest. They seem to have a far more logical and mental approach and if something doesn't fit their list they just dump you and go for the next.

Correct me if I'm wrong but most women are willing to invest, commit, and be there for a guy, build a future together. It's far more reciprocal.

I guess this could have to do with how we are wired:
Men: impregnate a great many, not bond.
Women are innately more wired to look for commitment & bonding ==> safety of the offspring.

And yes, I know I paint a bleak image of men, but this is what we as women come across most of the time.
I know there are good guys who are looking for the same thing, but these seem to be few and far between.

I think for the younger generation this will be different, but my generation not so much, not yet.

I want someone who takes care of themself. They don't have to be in perfect shape but I don't want a man who looks like he is pregnant.

I want a man who is independent and financially secure. He doesn't have to be rich but if my 25 year old son is better off than the 50 year old man trying to date me, there is a problem.

I want him to be able to do "man's work" around the house. Cut grass, fix the lawnmower, fix a leaky faucet. Men want a woman who cleans house and can cook. He should handle his role.

I want him to be fun and adventurous. Road trip, new restaurant, take a new class, learn a new hobby etc. If all he wants to do is eat and screw, we have a problem.

I want him to be charming. I want him to open doors and pick up the check. Bring me flowers. Not some thing he has to do every time he sees me but if coming over and eating up all my groceries is all he wants to do, we have a problem.

that's a good response.

I want him to be honest. Sometimes I think liars lie just because they can. I don't want someone who i can't trust.

I want him to be smart. Doesn't have to be a rocket scientist but he must be able to have conversations about some thing besides sex and gossip.

Someone who walks the talk... in other words he's authentic. His actions back up his words.

If I am a woman, when I am looking for a man to be my boyfriend or build a closely friendship, I will list those requirements to him. First of all, be kind to my parents. Second, he is a independent guy who have his own idea rather than listen to his mom all. Three, treat me well, be honest and never betray me.
