Oh I don't think that's the case here, it never bothered them before laugh

To me it's not any different. A bad boy is the same as a bad girl... both have a disregard for rules and authority, a non-conformist to extreme without any regard to others around them.

There was a time when that seemed cool to me, kind of freeing... but it's really not. In my opinion, it's more of an ego trip and a lot of those who carry the "bad" boy or "bad" girl character have low self esteem and lack of self respect. It's an outward act that gives them a false sense of power and control over their lives, when they feel helpless and worthless on the inside.

Just my opinion and what I have observed from my experience of being around "bad" boys and girls.

Bad boys never interested me..

Risk takers/ thrill seekers (speeding, picking fights, showing off, etc...)
"Showing off" also includes having some overpriced toy/ toys, ostensibly to impress the women...

Aggressive/ gotta be in charge...
Heavy drinkers/ "partiers"....

Think they are Gods gift/ have several women on a string/ competeing for them (they need this for their ego, apparently)
I'm not competing for ~anyone~..
You either want to be with me, or you don't.

It'll mean different things for different people, but..that's what it means for me.

I must say that to me you both have hit on my thought of a "Bad Boy". Here is my thoughts one.

Disregarding rules and authority
High Risk Taker
Substance abuser
Womanizer
Disrespectful
Controlling
Argumentative
Unkind and uncaring for others feels
Bully
Cheater, liar and thief

Oh, that's a good chunk of my list that I feel make up a so called Bad boy.

"What is your idea of what a "bad Boy" is

A guy that doesn't live up to desired expectations, but the woman is being driven by hormones and generally shallow impulses so she overlooks the incompatibilities to continue the relationship.
With the term "bad boy" being used as a means of pushing all blame and responsibility for her choices and behavior onto him, and he allows it because it doesn't really come with a lot of meaningful negative consequences for him.

would you want to date such a man"?

If I was a chick, sure.

I'm a "bad boy" because I have no desire to live up to your expectation of who I am or what you think I should be.

I think self labels are a facade.
A false front, not of who or what a
person is. But, of who or what a person
wants to be seen as.

This is a lesson in Labeling theory which is the theory of how your identity and behavior is influenced by the labels you use to describe or classify yourself or others. It is also known as a concepts of self-fulfilling prophecy and stereotyping. Based on your own ideas of what such a person is can and does define the choices we choose to make in a life partners. So self awareness is for self improvement.

Good post.

Now a question.

If my family, friends, and most importantly,
"enemies", concur that I'm an a-hole?
that's the ultimate success.
No self improvement needed.

In all seriousness, I came to terms with
how judgemental I was, until very recently.
I refuse to judge by a person's facade.
Or, even by someone else's opinion.
I prefer learn a person's soul and psyche.

Judging a persons Facade (our appears as I would say) is never the right thing to do. I know many people that appear to be what some would call a rough character. Are really awesome people when you look at there soul and psyche.

So, based on your preface you are doing the right thing. Not judging by just looks but what's inside. We all should do that unfortunately most people don't.

As for the question portion if, you want them to believe you are an ahole
then yes your golden.

However, I don't see you as that. I see as someone exploring what really makes you you. Being opinionated is a virtue that many don't explore or understand. It's a part of self expression that delineates down right to our core as a human being. You seek to be perceived as something your not. Your smart, inquisitive, and bold. Some people are put off by that, some are not. I see you as actually a tender hearted person that doesn't really want anyone to know just how sensitive you really are. Your a great person no matter what others think of you and always remember that.
