Is body size more of an issue with men or woman? Or is it more than just black and white.

I'm not going to be the first to comment on this one

body image is more of a problem in woman with themselves, but I think when it comes to the opposite sex, the men are picker

mmm in general I agree, but admit it..we are all shallow to an extent and wouldn't date a certain 'build' person

Recently in my Human Sexuality class most of the men who were posed this question said they did not expect woman to look like they do in magazines....were they being careful because of the amount of woman in the room or is it really us woman who need to look perfect?

Personally I would prefer someone who is healthy and takes good care of themselves.

I would prefer a long term relationship that is a healthy long term.

Does this make me shallow?

What most important to me in a woman: intellect, independent, self-esteem, compassion, loving and good heart. Once I fall in love with those qualities, a woman's body size does not matter.

I think men are more concerned with it when they are looking at a female. Although I have noticed Im guilty of it too. Im not bi, but I can appreciate an attractive female. Anything too thin is gross. I think a little thickness is hot for a female. Personally I wouldnt date myself. But in a guy, Id prefer a big stalky guy over a chiseled weight lifting guy.

Most men(in my uneducated opinion) would be happy with an average woman. The magazine chicks are scary thin......and wear toooooooooooooo much make-up

To willowy or just bone skinny is unattractive in my opinion, for me liking in a man is whats inside that shines out...thats when they become attractive

OK. I'll put my arse on the line and give this one an answer!

"Body size" like anything is up to that certain persons preference!

However WOMEN in America have the most problem with it, simply because our "advertising" society has made them extremely self contious.

Many women THINK a guy sees them for thier "size" when thats NOT the truth in most cases. But an unhealthy attitude towards "size" can be a problem with either women or men.

My view as far as friends...does not matter, hope they are healthy and happy (had a guy friend get his stomach stapled and has lost like 300+ pounds and glad for him cause he is healthier, but it would NEVER effect our friendship either way) but if someone looks for more, then "physical attraction" plays a role..period. And that is strictly up to that person of what they like.

Personal preference..i like the "in-between"..not too thick and not too thin (I can't stand when a woman's top of her arm is the same size as her wrists..thats just not healthy nor is it at all "attractive" to me).

So in most part..to each thier own..just be healthy and happy with YOU! bigsmile

women are more shallow then men, at least in my experiences. all the women i meet or try to meet anyway won't give you the time of day unless your a brad pitt look-a-like with the build of a gay body builder (even if that kind of person is way out of their own league). while all the guys i know would bang a water melon.

physically you are correct.. but mentally we might be on another level or I could surpass your level, or I might be lower than your level. lol. but looks arent everything when judging a person as a friend.. relationships i believe other wise. but to each there own.
