I heard that this Sunday, January 6, is the busiest day of the year for online dating sites. I saw this on at least three news shows in the last couple of days. Why is this?

I think there are those couple of weeks with no holidays, and then the Super Bowl is going on and a lot of people are thinking about that.

At times it has to do with the first of the year and NYR many want to find someone, and as well many of your main Dating Sites runs specials as well to get people to join them... And the Holidays have passed many will not go on new dates much during the Holidays they wait till they are over to find someone..

There seems to be a "special" day for just about everything so why not dating. I think it's probably dating sites trying to drum up business.
