I have a scientific world view and that means there is a simple explanation for everything. For example, we've always had thunder and lightning on his planet but only recently understood what it is and how it occurs. That understanding led to knowledge of electricity - and look at what we can do now, using that phenomenon! No doubt in the future what we currently see as unexplained phenomena will turn out to have a simple and well understood explanation. If only I could find a way to live for several hundred years I would probably understand some more of these things before the end of my days. Sad to say I cannot contribute any personal experiences to this thread, only the thought that you get what you expect. Thus other scientific types I have known and worked with have never told me about experiences of this sort, only people who I would describe as 'susceptible'. That is certainly not intended to be a slur on such people, it's just the most correct English word I can think of, so please don't be offended! No offence taken, just FYI, both my brothers and I turned down invitations to join MENSA. |

You're on the right track River but that's not the whole of it. I was working on sharing an experience from my past for a historian I had met on here. After only a couple of installments it became too much for her but I continued to write it as I was learning a great deal by doing so. This last Friday I was chatting with an institutionalized person who wanted to read it to see how I could possibly understand her on so deep of a level. As soon as I sent what I had the site went nuts. I could read my mails but not respond, then I started getting "mobile verification" notes. Not easy to do when you don't have a cell. I posted a couple of requests in the forums and sent several notes to site admin. Finally that evening I got a reply saying I had been cleared as a spammer" ??? Oh well, so what I knew that already. When I was able to contact her the first thing she wrights is "something weird happened" She could only open my mails in her browser, not in the app. Her phone had started acting up, not just here on mingle but all across every one of her social networks too. When we got done discussing this I found the nudge function would no longer work for her. I posted a bug report but have still been unable to use that function with her. Works with anyone else, just not with her. Perhaps you're not meant to communicate with her  Often times when there's interference, there's a reason for it and at times it could be for the greater good.... Other times it's just a bug in the system that needs to be worked out. Only happening with her though I would consider that a sign to stop trying to communicate with her. |

It sounds more like you're dealing with poltergeists I don't see it like that. I think it's someone who has passed and doing these things to get my attention or letting me know that they are there. It doesn't frighten me whereas poltergeist activity can be a malevolent action and would definitely scare me I don't mean to use poltergeist to mean it has negative intentions, just to mean that it's a manifestation of something / someone outside of what we think of as the normal world. I believe what you're talking about are spiritual gifts... abilities to tap into a higher level of consciousness. For you it's the gift of tongues/or knowledge Others are able to see into the future... a seer/or prophesier Others are natural healers Wisdom, and connecting with the spirits are some of the other spiritual gifts. Am I correct? Yes, I'm a healer also, I have an ability to interact with those deemed insane by the "normal" community and solve their problems allowing them to get out of institutions / hospitals etc. Once my "gift of tongues" got me a 6 month stay in a locked ward, but an amazing amount of "hopeless" cases did leave that facility while I was there.  It's amazing how others react when they feel threatened by something out of the ordinary.

Seems a little dark, but then being stuck in limbo between all that you thought you knew and recognizing that which threatens it generally is a dark place to be... like living in hell. I believe that's what causes a lot of people to rule out the idea that we have spiritual gifts or anything else that interferes with what they believe... it threatens the core of their existence.

I'm open minded but. If that's really true that you can sometimes speak in languages you don't know, then do you want to investigate it a little? It's a pretty earth shattering claim.

Sure Charles, what do you have in mind? As I have previously stated I don't control it. It happens when or where it does without my knowledge.

The entire spectrum of my experiences in this field are limited to a few times that I've attributed to what I can only call inherented memory. I've had two occasions in my life that I had such overwhelming Deja Vu experiences I had to set down. Myself and a friend where in his junk car broken down on a hiway for 6/7 hours (btw no cars went by in all that time) just sitting there we watched some sort of UFOs, 5 of them do some amazing **** but that's it. No ghosts ever.
I believe we don't begin to know or understand our own potential and if we did we would be a far more advanced race than we are. |

I woke up to see a big black dog in the room once.
occasionaly I dream of an event that is actually happening at the time I dream it. for example had a dream of a fire in a harbor, with two ships ablaze. on the news the next day, that's exactly what happened. A few times I dream of someone I haven't seen for a log time, sometimes years, and bump into them the next day. which is a weird one. I can't explain these things. But .... to a 2 dimensional being the world would be flat. A 3 dimensional being like us it appears as it does. the fourth dimension perhaps is time. Maybe the distinction between past present and future is not absolute. maybe when we weave the tapestry of our lives and then pass, the tapestry remains. and we are discombobulated, or adrift in time. Ghosts or spirits to the present. the past still exits... otherwise how could the present exist. This message will be in the past for me when you read it. But you read it none the less in the present. |

Many small things have happened to me and around me over the years. I have been inexplicably saved from death a few times, I photographed 'spirits' in a black dark jail corridor, seen shadow people at the foot of my bed when a child, had some episodes of ESP and pre-cognition, and seen some weird stuff.
Someone/something watches out for me, and organises, and niggles in my head to do certain things 'now' so that I make certain connections at certain times, which are most unlikely. Serendipity, luck, probability, occult, huh ? Once a girlfriend while asleep in the early hours started talking a foreign language, (she didn't know any), it was a germanic sounding, ancient sounding language. She was loud and clear and distinct, like she was presenting or reciting something. I woke her up after a while, she was going on and on, and she knew nothing about it, and was angry I woke her up. I should have recorded it. I lucid dreamed of my partner going into space with a female astronaut wearing jeans, months before her cancer was diagnosed. The female doctor present had those jeans on when she passed away. I think we know more subconsciously than we know consciously. Just that modern distractions are dumming down our natural abilities to 'see'. |

There is a suggestion that we do not in fact have 'free will' and that all parts of time co-exist. At one level, all time, past, present and future all 'exist' together. If true, that could explain some of the things mentioned due to some people having the ability to see 'across' into a parallel place (universe?) and thus observe these things.
While at the moment it is entirely involuntary, maybe one day we will be able to move across to this parallel place and it might be one, for example, where a friend has learnt another language and can speak it fluently, while most other things are as they are now. Who knows? I so wish I could invent something that would enable me to live long enough to watch these discoveries being made! |
