Because this could be interesting given my situation. I'm just nervous about putting it on t.v. She would like me to visit at the end of this year around Christmas.

Do they provide the women?

I looked up the compensation.

$500 - $1000 per episode (There are 11 - 12 episodes per season)

And only the American part of the couple gets paid. Nothing for the foreign partner.

Travel expenses do not appear to be covered at all.


Personally, $12,000 per season is not enough to entice me to put intimate details of my private life out for the world to view for personal entertainment. Especially when I will need at least 1/4 of that money just to pay for the trip.

I think this would be a really good opportunity
to showcase the workings of an LDR.
And, a way for those who are fortunate enough
to have a successful LDR, to share in the joy.

Never heard of it, which is logical as I'm not American. It seems the dating world is still a booming business.
Over here we have this program for farmers as apparently it's difficult for them to find partners. It's called "Farmer seeks woman".
It incredibly popular, has been running for donkey years.

A spinoff called "90 day fiance: 3 years later" would be interesting.
That's how long foreign brides/grooms need to stay married before getting citizenship (I think), until then it's just a green card that needs to be renewed every few months which they lose if they divorce or stop living together.
Everything up until then could easily be simply an act.

Could easily be compared to a show called "90 year old fiance: dating the stripper."


Why do you think it would accurately portray an LDR?
It's "reality" t.v.
A lot of that is scripted and manipulated for the sake of a story to sell to viewers.

We have that programme in Germany as well. Isn't it produced by Endemol?

In the U.S. there's a cable channel, RFD-TV which sometimes carries advertisements for a single farmers website.

Do they have a website to get a mail order MAN ?

There are plenty of foreign men looking for women outside of their own countries.

But the women seem to outnumber the men. Thus more focus in placed on matching the women rather than the men.

I have only watch a few of the shows ... I don't know why... but not into those kind of shows anymore ... but others like them ... have fun
