There are 7.5 billion people on the planet
Just a few hundred are bothered about it. You could say education is the answer but most don't give a hoot and are just concerned with what they can make!

They still burn down tree's to grow it crystal spock

My point was, nothing is done about.
If you take that tone of voice with me I won't talk to you again laugh

sad sad sad

Just sad to see you suddenly seeming to be pro-Amazon fire. Almost like, let the whole lot burn down!
And that's something I do not understand.

No, I'm not at all.
Just trying to get you to see things from the other side
Like godsfriend said. These people still have to live and feed there families.
That has to be addressed don't you think? .
Random example here.
5 g network. everyone's been crying and demanding the super speed Internet yet they don't want them to put up masts for the signal!
People want everything as long as it's not in there back yard!
We still drive cars even though the world knows they pollute, we still fly, still though away thousands of tons of food each day.
We are all guilty flowerforyou
Did you ever see the oil fires in the Iraq war?
Volcanoes erupting, it all adds up.

Hmm... I DO see the other side... but those are issues that right now aren't of the most importance. These fires are.

As for cars, they're forcing us by law to switch to electric cars and to cook using electricity.
This is another issue, another problem, as this is now dumped on our common folk who mostly cannot afford to rebuild their homes nor buy a new car. I can't either.
They've already put up gas prices artificially to force people to not use gas anymore.
There's zones where petrol cars aren't allowed to go anymore and so on.
These things are changing and coming, thing is, the rainforest cannot wait.

5G... I don't know anyone who wants or wanted that. I only know and hear of people who do NOT want it. I don't either. The only ones who do are the government/ones in power as it seems to mess up our brains.
I have 4G, got that automatically, didn't need that either. 3G was just fine. I cannot tell the difference.
Internet is fast enough, but that goes via cable not unhealthy waves.

The oil fires in Iraq at the time were of major concern and what I remember the whole world was upside down about that too and tried to help or at least wanted to.

I sorry, but it all adds up, sure, but those are all issues we are busy with and changing round.
This, the Amazon fires, is an urgent issue that needs dealt with asap. It can NOT wait. None of the other issues are this urgent. Fact they need attention doesn't mean it's an excuse to shrug this one off and do nothing. If we do nothing it's going to be too late. Then if we suffer the sour consequences people will cry out "Why didn't we/the governments do something?"
Err.. because you couldn't be bothered to get off your @$$
I think many don't care and many think like what you come up with in your last post.
Which in my view does not add up.

But I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

Yes, I see. But if they said from tomorrow you can't use your car that would be different.
Like saying to them they can't grow food!

The only issue for the farmers RIGHT NOW are to give their families food and make a living!
It's there government who are to blame.

Totally agree with that. And we are to blame for it as well as much of the soy planted there is for feeding cattle we eat.
Tied into a whole economical and financial system which has to collapse.

Oh well, let's keep our fingers crossed this is going to be sorted first. The rest is a battle for another day.

Exactly John, they have thousands of acres of poppys, opium and we wouldn't destroy them so the locals could earn more than the taliban would pay them to fight laugh

Good afternoon godsfriend, exactly. weather it's right or wrong it's easy for us to tell them what to do as we have everything

Hi godsfriend, all good thanks.
How are things going with your country now?

Good to hear. I hope you all are bracing up for brexit.
As for my nation, everyone is their own savior. You take your destiny in your hands. If you wait for the government, then you are in deep shot. Politicians are after winning the next elections and perpetuating themselves and cronies in power rather than solving the myriads challenges bedevilling a nation.

It's almost insulting that hurricane Dorian gets so much attention while this is much much worse.
And I don't mean any disrespect, I do feel for people who live there and have to go through that.
But on a different level it IS insane that it gets so much attention.

I've just read that the fires have mostly to do with deforestation, NOT by humans setting it on fire. That was another BS rumour that was spread to point fingers and shrug it off. As if it wouldn't be so bad if it had been lit by humans.
They can tell the difference between a deforestation fire and one caused by humans. It burns differently and produces different type of smoke (columns).
But this is bad news as it means the root problem is much bigger and more difficult to sort.

Also to get a clear perspective of the size of the problem, the size of the Amazon rain forest, look at it with an overlay of America, which is huge. But America and the Amazon are approx. the same size!!!

not to be trite but too bad we couldn't just park dorian right on top of the fires and let the 2 cancel each other out

Hihi, I don't think it have much effect. Look at Florida on the overlay, and Dorian isn't even as big as Florida, then see the size of the Amazon and thus the fires...
What it comes down to in comparison is that most of the USA is on fire. Then Dorian is SO small scale you wouldn't even notice it...
The thought is nice, but you'd need a hurricane the size of the US.
