Race is only skin deep. That's up to the individuals involved. There's a possibility they could have to deal with racism for this choice.
Religion or belief is something that well cause a problem. A christian and a satanist would have major problems. Both would have major problems with a relationship with an atheist. The old saying, "Go with your own kind" refers to this. Small minded people think this means race. |

do you see religion and race as barrier to your love life Absolutely! Racing is very important, as I will never again date anyone who lacks appreciation for dirt track midget racing. |

Race is not a barrier.
Conflicting core standards, values, and beliefs is likely to be. |

Yes. Race, culture, religion. I'm not interested in someone from another background and culture, and I couldn't live with someone who believes in something that is obsolete, limiting and restricting. That is religion, but also if they strictly follow Buddhism, Wicca or whatever.

is it not good we try to convert someone to our religion for the sake of love, isn't it worth a try.

may be it will work out real good.

Race doesn't, although you need someone who's ethos matches your own. Religion is much more difficult. If you have a religious belief then you should probably choose someone who is the same religion.

My ex wife and her family were staunch catholics, to them I was some subhuman being ... among other insults.

may be it will work out real good. I have a loved one who is Christian and marrying a Muslim. IT works because they both respect each other and don't try to change each other, and at the core of both their beliefs is that people should be respectful and kind. That is why I say that problems arise with different CORE beliefs, not religion, because even within religion, you will find people will have different core beliefs. Example, as a Christian, I believe I am a sinner and equal to other sinners. I treat other sinners the way I hope to be treated, with love and compassion. I know there are other Christians though, who believe their saved status requires them to make other sinners outcasts. They carry on like they hate the SINNER, instead of the sin. |
