how do you manage to keep a relationship that was initiated online from breaking.. when one person could very well be thinking that the same way both of you met... the same way you could be chatting with another person online ..telling him or her the same things shared in the original relationship..??

That's the rub, isn't it? There is no way other than meeting in person VERY QUICKLY and establishing a real world romance. Online fantasy is powerful, but fantasy all the same.

Hire a Private Investigator to view their phone/computer messages?

Why do you think this person can't be trusted?
Do they think the same of you?
Is it a scammer?

I agree with Geezer. Plus once you meet, you'll have more than just words to go on, you'll have body language as well.

Most men I don't think talks with only One woman online.

That would be unrealistic thinking. In my opinion.

I trust a man I meet in person and Date for a while!

After rereading the initial message. It sounds like they have had a relationship in the real world.

Well I am confused. He is on a dating site, but is asking if the partner can be trusted.
Seems a tad hypocritical to me.:thinking:

The premise of the question is confusing to me. Essentially he is asking about online trust which is an oxymoron.

Yes! It is so much easier for people married or in committed relationships to cheat now.

A willingness for both people to learn to communicate.
Communication based on observed behavior.
Face to face and sharing experiences together.
Eschewing impersonal methods like email/text/IM/phone, for more personal ones.
Like offline.
Spending more time together offline than the internet.

This really comes down to the levels of trust in a monogamous relationship, and in my opinion, most people do have trust in their partner. It may be easier to contact others online, than it is in real life, but I believe if someone really wants to seek out another they will, either online or not. You trust them not to, because that's what a monogamous relationship is about.
