 I've been active on fora for some 16 yrs now. Why would I change that? I was even on here when I was in relationship and very much in love and happy. |

You end up watching more vids/movies of an evening, get some stuff done, remember some good laughs, good characters, interesting points of view, you maybe keep in touch with 1 or 2, even though you'll probably never meet them but just because they were so dam likable.
drop them a line every now and then, lol one day you think, mmmmm I wonder how those guys are doing I'm sure two or three post's wouldn't hurt.

Never heard it put that way before. I've retired from many sites, many forums and many social networking sites like facebook and myspace. Technically, being permanently disabled I am also retired from my career. While I do miss working on/fixing trucks I don't miss the stress of the job nor the politics of coworker insanity. Over my life, I've experienced spotty internet. Sometimes unexpected. I've lost much online compositions, stories and artwork that existed on servers. I've lost photos and movie/music collections on the clouds. I've learned not to get too attached to anything online. Mingle2 is no different. Sometimes mingle2 is so unreliable it becomes unuseable. I just find something else to do. Give it a day or two and they work out whatever is happening. Its entertainment, nothing more. |
