I am initiating a forum here for sharing your thoughts on finding friendships on a site like this.

Are the ones here serious about finding someone?

Are they really serious about themselves!!

To set the ball rolling I feel no one is serious here most of them are seeking adventure. Some have nothing to do. And a few who may be beginners are apprehensive to take initiative.

This 8s it for the while. I shall elaborate on each with some case studies. The idea is only to get insight 9nto human behavior in different states of mind.

I've tried making friends on here and sites like it but it never seems to work out. Just when you think you might have made a friend cause you're going back and forth sharing stories and starting to get invested in this new person in your life, you get hit with the "hey! wanna see me naked? just sign up on this site and you can see all my pics for free! no CC needed!"

like i get they're just trying to make a buck but it still really sucks when they pull that crap. but hey one can only hope karma is a thing and it comes back to bite in the *** at some point.

i'm disabled and almost rarely leave the house except to go to a doctor's appointment so i almost never see or talk to anyone except my gf or our roomie but both of them usually do their own thing leaving me to fend for myself when it comes to social interaction. it sucks but what can ya do. so i go online looking for various places to try and find people to talk to cause it's really my only outlet. it just gets discouraging a lot when you keep running into so many fake people who arent looking for anything but to make a buck even if it's at your expense.

That's precisely the point...Mike..if I may call you. All allences ranging from an acquaintance to anything more intimate are merely transactions. Transactions as in give and take. Which is inherent in basic bonding too. With this as a premise I feel most approaches are orchestrated. The only only factor I feel appears different on a site like mingle etc..is that the aspect of loss isn't there. Which makes most members non serious about their investment. This also gives way to treating it as a platform to extract from..as in gambling. Where one is ready to lose or waste money very well knowing the risk factor. Hoping to hit a jackpot here is just a matter of chance.

I would say it is interesting than.. awesome. More because there are all sorts of people here. All have agendas. So if you meet so.eone matching yours you would indeed end up liking it.

But for that one needs to be patient.

Online dating sites are full of people with agendas . Sadly, not all of them are honest or genuine . That in itself can make people wary (even in establishing friendships ) trust can be difficult to establish . Long distance and time zones can also be a barrier .

It takes patience , respecting boundaries and motivation for why people are online and understanding why many may have reservations about sharing personal information . Not everyone is online to date or make friends .. some are here just here for the entertainment of socialising in the forums . It is a way to get to know regular posters and friendships often develop through forum interaction .

Normally I don't like to post on forums but there's a lot of things people have shared within this thread that are true and it sucks. The scammers seem to be on all of these types of sites and it's hard to at times to see who's real and who's fakes.
